Anyone have any good expansion teams for MLB? from any city or state

I always like doing Montreal Expos and Nashville Stars, because a lot of people want the former to come back and the latter is the likely next team to join

Memphis (Chicks), Nashville (I use Fusion because I like the Logo), Charlotte (Air Riders and I have them play in US Air Stadium), Vancouver (Volcanoes), and Jacksonville (Sharks or Dolphins). Rotate that group. Minors become a mess, but hey there are plenty of Minor leagues to use.

I am in late July of my season. CanI add 2 expansion teams to my league now and not ads them to the schedule. Will there be any issues?7

In my 25 save, I started with the Charlotte Aviators and Montrel Expos, then about 10 years later, I expanded to the Nashville Blues and Mexico City Diablos. I also plan to expand to San Juan (Puerto Rico Islanders) and Portland (Beavers) in my next round.

Here's some teams I include in my fictional Professional Baseball Association:

Portland Beavers
Vancouver Mounties
Carolina Robins
Calgary Cowboys
Oakland Stompers

Some other fun team concepts I mostly include at the minor league level...

Nevada Silver Sox - Something that's not so "stereotypical Vegas."
California Grizzlies - I typically set them in Sacramento, CA: state capital + state symbol.
Oklahoma Nations - At a time when sports franchises are moving away from derogatory representation of Native Americans, I wanted to lean into a franchise that embraces Native American heritage as something to respect & celebrate.

I've been toying with the idea of launching a MLB setup based on racial slurs and vulger profanities. The abolition of the color barrier in 1947 would contain special significance you don't normally find. One hurdle is finding appropriate logos & uniforms but then the names would be colorful enough perhaps logos wouldn't be that necessary. Would also be interested in getting forum opinions and ideas for teams and trophies names.

Now, have been thinking of various scenarios:
1. Total renaming of all teams
2. Partial renaming, maintaining some actual team names
3. No team renaming, slurs and profanities limited to nicknames only

Last option would solve the logos issue.

Is there a field that enables quick mass naming updates? So I could populate a text list of slurs etc and then do a mass import?

I really don't think that's a good idea. Seems crass and derogatory. Even if it's only for fun I would steer clear.

I like to do the Expos, but in fictional leagues I ask chatgpt for ideas. I'm not an expert in every cities history and culture, and chatgpt can consider all that to come up with names that fit each city. I haven't tried asking it to crank out some logos, but you could do that too.

That's a bold strategy, Cotton. I wouldn't do it, but I frequently name any Boston team something "colorful".

If you go in the mods section, there are already plenty of expansion teams that people have already created logos and uniforms for--some even have some pretty nice STADIUMS made for them.

What's funnier - setting up a league like this or imagining someone doing so and sitting grimfaced muttering under his breath, with occasional bursts of sardonic laughter.

I like expanding to Cancun...usually pick on the Cervezas, Diablos or Rum Runners.
