Using 2021 World Template in OOTP 25

Hey y'all. It's been a minute but I've finally decided to bite the bullet and get back into OOTP. I'm a long-time player of the game but my last world was built in OOTP21. I have an extremely detailed promotion/relegation template built and I really, REALLY don't want to recreate it for 25. It was a fictional league with MLB rosters.

I have downloaded the prior versions of the game so I import the league save up to OOTP 25. My question is this...I have a backup of the league last saved in 2021. If I save that as a world template, import it up through the versions to OOTP25, choose 2021 as the league starting year, and then advance it to 2024, will the league include the new database of players that comes with OOTP 25? My obvious goal is to keep my template but have current player database. Thanks in advance for any thoughts/tips/tricks.

A world template will work, a quickstart would need to be upgraded version by version but teh template files still work across versions
