True, however we are still 6 games from the postseason and the Seahawks have not proven that they have what it takes on both sides of the ball. While Geno is an excellent average QB he has never won a playoff game. The defense has played better but they have only played two top teams and gave up a boat load of points in both games (I know injuries but that is part of the game). They still have allot to prove in the coming games. If they get to 10/11 wins then maybe I will think differently. For now they have won 2 games in the last 3 and played well defensively. However their offense is not even average so we will see how they play in the next 6. I am guessing 3-3 and 9-8 might win the division and it might not but I promise you this team has NO SHOT at a Super Bowl appearance this season, BOOK-IT!
That said I am pulling for them to prove me wrong and win 12 games, I just don't see it this year. The offensive line is this team's "fatal flaw".

I think they could get to 10-7, 9-8 would be dissapointing to me personally. They don't have no chance at the super bowl, just a small chance. Funny things can happen once the games start being played.

Nice to see Daccord starting to look like the long term answer for the Kraken at goaltender. Now if we can score some goals. (sounds familiar)

I hope they make some trades and a significant free agent signing such as Santander of the Orioles.

trades are probably more likely than a big free agent signing, we have had more success as an organization investing money internally then externally with free agents recently.

Yes and we see how well that has worked out as in 1 playoff in the last 23 years

Yes, let's just throw money at the biggest free agent name and hope that it turns out well.

There is a middle ground where you get young players who have just established themselves like a Santander and pay for them instead of retreads in their 30's hoping that they will revert back to there youth when it never happens. How many times do you fail before trying something different? Hiring Dan and Edgar was a desperate move by Dipoto to save his job. They are not like Scott in that they don't believe in analytics, did you not understand that?

Are you surprised? Why would a pure hitter such as Arenado want to play in a terrible hitters park 80 some games a year, especially in the cooler months. He is trying to pad his numbers for his hall of fame selection. Add this to him wanting to play for a team that actually makes the playoffs (well except for the Angels (why🤷🏼*♂️)) more often than once in 24 years and there you have it.

Seems about right for the cheap-ass Mariner's leadership, lets get a retread that was good for us 2 years ago and maybe he is even less expensive now that he is like 40

I hope the Mariners taking awhile to make deals is a good thing and shows they recognize the need to get it right this year. If they do trade Luis Castillo they need to not undervalue him like they did Eguenio Suarez and Jarred Kelenic.

Never mind the other bad moves:
Trading away Teoscar Hernandez
Aquiring Kolten Wong, Aquiring Jorge Polonco

etc, etc

the Mariners need a good offseason this year, Julio can't do it by himself.

It is almost cute how you still have any confidence that Dipoto and his management team have any skills in making trades or signing productive free agents. The best we can hope for is that all the players currently on the roster have career years next year, so they win 90 games or so.

I feel like the last 5 years we're on an upward trend, especially since getting J Rod, Gilbert, and Kirby. This isn't hockey, you aren't going to make the playoffs every year unless you're the Dodgers or Yankees. I could be wrong though. Then again, I'm a Washington State Cougars fan so maybe I am just used to mediocrity.

Regarding the seahawks, we obviously need to win out, but if we do win out, we can win the division on the 5th tiebreaker if LA beats Arizona(if LA loses to arizona and us, we win the division automatically), but if they beat arizona we would be the same on head to head, division, common opponents, and conference, it would go to point differential which we currently lead on.

In that case unless the rams blow out the cardinals we could actually have the edge IF we win out. Of course that is a big if. The rams are a pretty good team and I don't know if I were a betting man if I'd bet on the seahawks over the rams in a week 18 play in game. It would be in LA for another thing.
