OOTP 25 Patch (Version 25.10.95) Available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 25 versions which were purchased directly from our webstore or resellers who use our Fastspring / QLM version. Steam users, please update from within the Steam client.

Hi everybody! Hope everyone is enjoying the World Series

Thanks for the feedback on the public beta. We are releasing the patch officially, incrementing the build number to version 25.10.95.

Note to online league members: This patch is compatible between versions.

Changelist 25.10.95:
  • Fixed some issues in classic 3D mode where players would sink under the field
  • Reduced velocity decline among younger players
  • Tweaked player contract demands for pre-FA top level players
  • Updated historical database
  • Adjusted some player creation/development modifiers for long term balance
  • Adjusted fictional league pitcher babip influence
  • Fixed Live Start issues
  • Fixed players created with 255 pro service years
  • Fixed some issues with using Neutralized stats with minors enabled
  • Fixed some pre-game handling of two-way players in lineup screen
  • Fixed crash when loading corrupted logo files
  • Fixed some issues when manually assigning IAFA players to teams
  • Fixed issues when historical games missing park factors
  • Misc bugfixes & tweaks

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Download link for Windows PC (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer
Mirror: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/25.10.95/ootp25setup.exe

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for MacOS (FastSpring):
Main Server: MacOS Installer

Cheers,
The OOTP Team

Are we able to get any like even general direction or description of some of these changes? I think it would be really helpful for the community.

Things like "Adjusted fictional league pitcher babip influence" "Tweaked player contract demands for pre-FA top level players" Do not say anything that actually helps the players adjust to the changes. There isn't even a hint as to the general direction of these changes. We just know it's different now.

Can you elaborate on this change? What changed about creation and development modifiers and why were they changed in the first place? What benefit does the user see when playing long-term sims?

I think it is likely to address the issues pointed out in this thread.

Most of the pre-FA arb contract demands were related to international FA that signed. Here was Matt's reply elsewhere:

Here was an example of such a wacky arb demand:

Is there a standard for determining the degree of velocity decline among younger players? Why should it have a strong factor that acts on velocity separately from injury and aging? It's true that the degree of decline has decreased with patches, but I think it is strange in itself that the factor have significant influence.

Over the past few months, there has been a patch to make a drastic change from the initial state that has been somewhat lacking in volatility, and has since fixed it little by little. Was this process really necessary? In my view, these changes should have been tested sufficiently and then applied from the next version. If it had to be applied at 25, there should have been only a few tweaks. But it didn't.

Adjustments are being made continuously, and I don't know if this is done by setting a standard and modifying it, or it changes little by little whenever there is a feedback that there is a problem. If it is the former, could you make sure that the current status is what Devs intended?

For the live start I'm not seeing scheduled events such as offseason starts, arbitration, winter meetings, etc. Do I need to schedule them myself or is there a setting I'm not seeing?

Once you finish the season, they should schedule automatically.

Hi Matt, can you comment on how the patch affects pBABIP in fictional leagues. Even just saying it's more or less important?

It was reduced a little. It will still come in ti play, but it should shift a little more of the results to be based on defense and other factors than the rating itself.

Matt,

Do you have any idea of when the final and last patch will be done for OOTP25?

I guess you will continue to update as long as you have critical bugs.

I don't use the latest version for my league until the final patch of the year.

So far, I have seen improvements in the 3D animation, which is important to me. It is smoother and many bugs have been fixed. My players no longer run through walls for me (pun intended).
However, for the first time ever, I am missing players on the field on occasion during the pitch screen and action screen. You see the ball but you don't seen many of the players.

Could someone please post the link for the latest patch.

I have been away for a few weeks, and the OOTP Client is not longer valid meaning I can not access my Perfect Team.

File download error

I am getting an error on my download that says File needs permission? Any ideas if this file is still available for download?

Edit - Nevermind it suddenly works
