Importing games from previous OOTPB versions

I have been playing OOTPB for several years I have purchased every new version since OOTPB 10 .. except last year...

I just got OOTPB 25. I wanted to import a few of my OOTP 23 games. Can I do this? Can I import games to OOTPB 25 from versions other than OOTPB 24?

You cannot skip versions when importing but I think you should be able to download the OOTP24 demo and convert your OOTP23 files. Then use OOTP25 to convert your OOTP24 files.

That should get you where you want to go.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply...I will let you know if it worked. Do. you know where I could download the OOTPB 24 Demo?

There ought to be an easier way to do this. I have every version since OOTPB 10.. except Version 24. I had a bad and didn't get off the IL until August.

It's the same process as it would be if you had bought last year. Just download the demo and import to 24. Then open OOTP25 and import to 25. I'll post the link for you to get the demo. Hang on.

They expanded the range of some of the ratings so please read the first post on this link before importing to 25 from 24.

Just wanted to add that if it isn't clear you should be able to use the demo version to update your save from 23 to 24 without paying for it.

There are a few "milestone" versions that are probably always going to be fraught with their own particular issues. Fortunately/unfortunately 25 is one of them, although this may be fortunate in your case because the leap from 23 to 24 isn't super-huge. In 25 they reworked the ratings behind the scenes to go from 1-250 to 1-550 (in practice more like 300-550 for professional US baseball) so there could be some weirdness (I've seen guys' speed ratings get a little haywire) but this would be the case if you'd pulled your save in from 24 or an earlier version.

????

Having trouble going from 23 to 24 to 25.

I get the saved games to appear in V25 import folder, but I get an error message that says "can't import from an earlier version...

Any hints suggestions?

Why isn't there a way to specify where you want to install the game files when you open the application for the first time?

Talk about the 23 to 24 process. You had OOTP24 installed. When to the Start Screen. Selected Import OOTP23 Game, selected the league, selected the world.dat file, named the file, and then watched lots of loading at the top of the OOTP24 start screen as things imported into 24 and then the game opened. You saved it and exited. Then, with a saved OOTP24 game, you closed OOTP24 and opened OOTP25. From the OOTP25 start screen, you went to Import OOTP24 game, got to the saved games folder of OOTP24 and selected the .lg for the one you'd just moved over to OOTP24, selected the world.dat folder, and advanced the same way, watching things load and into OOTP25? Any steps in there that did not happen?

btw Here is the manual describing the process (it's the same from 24 25 as from 23 to 25).
