It just seemed weird to me that the game is licensed by MLB and has always included the phrasing "Hall of Fame" ... and now that the Hall of Fame has a deal with the game to add in HoF features, it's odd that the deal involved changing the wording to "Legends Gallery" in the game. It doesn't seem outrageous to bring that up in a thread. The Hall of Game features in the new game don't seem like they help OOTP or the Hall of Fame, quite frankly, so whether or not money changed hands on either side seems irrelevant.

My hope is that it's the first step in what will hopefully be a long-term partnership. Sure, it ain't much now but maybe future versions will incorporate my save into that gallery for example, or at least have it be much more robust.

I just bought OOTP 25 yesterday and installed it this morning. Can anyone explain to me how come the Hall of Fame section is missing several players such as Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Edgar Martinez (my favorite player as you can tell by my forum name), etc., etc.?

Do I need to update to the latest patch, even though I checked the thread about this and there no mention of the Hall of Fame being patched at all? (I used my browser's search function to find it in the page & didn't find anything about it in any of the patches listed.)

Is this a bug? Ort some copyright thing that the devs couldn't get permission to list those missing players?

Presumably to avoid legal complications, the in-game HOF is called "Legends Gallery" in OOTP25. Check there from the League Menu drop down. The HOF Showcase highlights rotating items in the actual Cooperstown building. It is not the in-game HOF.

It makes sense to me that the artifacts would be shown on a rotating basis (like the ball that was used when Nolan Ryan broke the record for career strikeouts or the bat Mark McGwire used to break the season home run record, for example) but do the names of the players change from time to time? LIke at one point they list Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez, but next time they'll show Gaylord Perry and Randy Johnson instead (the only other Mariner HOF'ers I can think of offhand)?

I guess it's to avoid unauthorized use of a person's likeness, but I'm limited in my knowledge of copyright laws.
