Then PT came in late 2019 and I started it. I loved it. I was even called a fanboy back then and called condescending. Imagine me being a fanboy with my opinions of the current game posted regularly? Sounds crazy. But that is how far PT has sunk the past couple years beginning just before the huge release hiccup not too long ago. When I hear about just spend more time now from somebody I am reminded of Zorro in early PT. He watched the replay of almost every game from his team. That is dedication. It also burned him out and he was a huge loss to this side of the game then. Now I see more old timers leaving and thinking of leaving. It saddens me, especially since I am one of those thinking every day about it. I actually have very little fun in PT anymore. I just love baseball and am trying to hang on here. But, I tire.

Fab, I don't have any bone to pick with you, but your condescending attitude toward those of us who aren't as talented as you is actually worse than our complaints. It appears your opinion of us is "live with it or leave" which seals us in a container never to be heard from again. That's a sad result when those of us in that container have been with Markus & Co. for more than 20 years. It's not like we are asking you folks at the top to give up much of anything - we're just asking for some adjustments to keep us interested beyond 4 months. The whales will always be whales, but does it really hurt anything to give the bottom 2/3rds of the customer base something to enjoy as well?

The key to a team playing differently is cranking out the live missions by the end of entry pool week and you need 2 or 3 live updates to help with that. If you started already you are way too early for a different experience. |

Possibly, but if I would have waited till the All-Star break I would have probably abandoned the teams by then. As it is, I'll be lucky to make the end of June

The problem is: where do you go after that? Too early into Negro Leagues, and Future Legends are still very, very expensive. Live Series will get you into Gold. If you have a good season and make Diamond then you'll probably be able to hang there for the moment, although the number of teams with extras like FL toppers and quality Perfects is increasing by the week. |

I do like your strategy of not opening packs and waiting until a little later into the cycle to actually start playing a team. I am following that with alts. I just can't see waiting until December to make a move.

Another thought comes to me...
Baseball is a 6 month sport. In between we watch other sports - do other things... but if we're true fan of baseball, we read and follow everything that happens over the 6 months the players aren't on the field. This is the "world" of baseball; PLAY for 6 months and PLAN for the other 6. Perfect Team modifies that habit and makes baseball last 12 months. For the whales, it doesn't matter because their only measurement is how many games you win. Whether it's 162 games or 365 games you need the "better" cards so you can keep up the wins. For us old-timers, however, there's a lot more to baseball than just the game on the field. The management, the contracts, the personalities, the injuries - and most of that has been stripped from Perfect Team. Add to that fictional players have to be added to the mix in order to provide improvements for 6 months, and it really isn't baseball anymore. Maybe that's why I can't get in with both feet for 12 continuous months of on-field competition. Much of the game that I love just isn't there. And that's why I keep getting pulled back to the basic game. It's not that I don't enjoy PT in the beginning, but once it starts showing itself as more of a card game instead of baseball, I lose interest. Maybe it's not a bad thing us old-timers pull out once we hit the invisible wall. We get to return to what we like best, and the whales get a boost from beating up on the "empty seats". Maybe that's the best of all worlds for everyone.
