OJ Simpson is Dead
..as reported by TMZ.
https://www.tmz.com/2024/04/11/oj-si...d-dies-cancer/ His legacy will never be that of a brilliant football player. He was a murderer, who got away with it. BEFORE the whackjobs come and say .... BUT HE WAS FOUND INNOCENT....know this. The bloody shoeprints at the scene were sized 12D Italian loafers, by Bruno Magli. OJ said "I would never wear those ugly-assed shoes." Katy Couric, hilariously, on the nightly news quoted him as saying "I would never wear those blank-assed shoes." The the adorabable Katy got a horribly confused look on her face. One year later, out came the photo of OJ wearing sized 12D Bruno Magli shoes, on the sidelines of an NFL game, years before the trial. SO. 100%...ONE HUNDRED PERCENT guilty of murder, and he got away with it. https://www.highsnobiety.com/p/oj-si...-magli-guilty/ https://www.nytimes.com/1995/06/20/u...pert-says.html Here's the money shot: https://imgur.com/LNZyPb0 Last edited by dsvitak; 04-11-2024 at 10:49 AM. |

Somewhere in heaven, Norm MacDonald is making a joke about this.

Yep. He got away with it. Know why? Cause prosecutors put in reasonable doubt. If they 1) Didn't fabricate evidence 2) Didn't have an admitted racist cop who admitted on tape to planting evidence working the scene & 3)foolishly tried to get OJ to wear the gloves in front of the jury, they might have convicted him.
Everyone, as they should, got mad @ OJ for getting away w/murder. But they should have gotten equally mad @ a "justice" system that exercises no self restraint in their quest to get guilty verdicts. Not prosecute the guilty. That's the bonus. But to get guilty verdicts.

There was a looooooot more weirdness in that case. I really recommend Vincent Bugliosi's book "Outrage" on the subject. Bugliosi is the guy who prosecuted Manson and wrote the book "Helter Skelter" about the whole thing. He agrees that sure, it was a miscarriage of justice, but it was one perpetrated by the prosecution as much as anything else, from Marcia Clark's weird jury techniques (which, I'm not saying using your exclusions to kick black people out is a *good* thing but Clark apparently specifically went towards Black women), to that whole Mark Fuhrman deal, including allowing it to get as out of hand as they did without addressing the absurdity of it, to Judge Ito getting way too caught up in the celebrity of it all.
But I don't think that anyone, 30 years out, thinks OJ was actually *innocent* of murdering Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman. I guess there will always be conspiracy theorists but beyond that.

But.....keeping it sports related........ I think OJ was my 1st "favorite" football player. I was about 3 or 4 when my parents bought me some blue & red PJ (yes w/the "feet") that had #32 on it. And they told me that was the best RB's #, OJ Simpson. So of course, every night I went to sleep as OJ Simpson crying about my 8pm bedtime

His son did it. He was a lunatic who hated Nicole. OJ was going to fall on the sword for him, but got off. I will die on this hill.
Anyways, good riddance, I guess.

It was police ineptitude more than the prosecutors, IMO, but the OJ case was hardly a slam dunk in any case. With no murder weapon, no witnesses to the crime or who can even place the defendant at the scene, and a defendant with no criminal record you're already fighting an uphill battle. When the cops and labs can't follow even the most basic standards evidence handling, it's even harder. Add in the LAPD's long history of racism and the result was really no surprise.
In any event, the Juice is loose from this mortal coil so it really doesn't matter anymore. |

Al Cowling’s family has announced that they will donate their old Bronco for use as OJ’s coffin. The funeral will be delayed for several hours while the vehicle, which has a top speed of 30mph, makes its way across LA to Inglewood.

If the prosecutors hadn't rushed the murder case to trial he would have died in jail.

And who the hell PLANS a murder that he squeezes in before a trip to the airport? OTOH, Jason had all the time in the world. O.J. was signing autographs on the plane. Nobody saw any cuts on his hands (which he wasn't trying to hide), nobody saw blood on his clothes, nobody thought he acted oddly. I believe the shoeprints about as much as believe the other blood evidence "collected" by the LAPD. (I was skeptical of this even before the LAPD nearly shot me dead in 1998.) Remember how the blood "found" in the car only matched on two aliels (sp?) and so wasn't credible DNA and then—whammo! The LAPD suddenly "discovered" other blood in the car, right in the middle of the trial, and this did match? Had nothing to do with their having access to O.J.'s blood sample that they collected, no, never! (Yes, yes, you can frame a guilty man. But still.) And let's not forget about the Fuhrman tapes in North Carolina. Just because Judge Showbiz wouldn't let them come in, it doesn't mean they don't show Fuhrman's intent to "get" O.J. Fun fact: about 10 years ago, I was regularly playing bridge against Rita Vannatter, widow of Fuhrman's partner, Philip Vannatter. (But no, I never even mentioned the case, much less asked her about it.) Best part of the Ryan Murphy series is when O.J. has a gun and Robert Kardashian Sr. is begging him not to commit suicide in 13-year-old Kim's bedroom, because he doesn't want Kimmy to have to live with that knowledge for the rest of her life. Definitely "truth is stranger than fiction" territory. (Unless Murphy made it up, but I doubt he did). I wonder if, somewhere, Ray Lewis is laughing his ass off? When I saw Casey Anthony's ex cop father testify it took 30 seconds for Philip Van Atter to come to mind. Both amoral lying cops. They had a case. Van Atter and Furman ruined it.

How about some sympathy at the time of tragedy, as you promoted for Lenny Dykstra?

Did the Knicks win the playoff game? (It was shoved into a box while NBC gave 90% of the screen to Bronco-cam.) I forget.

RIP to O.J., who I knew first as an actor, then as a guy accused of murder, and finally as football player. Comes with being European.
![]() Johnnie Cochran, Alan Dershovitz, Barry Scheck, and Kim Kardashian's dad, to name a few.

Cochran died 20 years ago and Dersh is a hack. I mean, of that group only Barry Scheck ever was really reputable and TBF he did a decent job in the trial (he was practically the only lawyer who did). Altogether, when I ask "who's going to defend OJ", I generally don't mean "his own defense attorneys"...
