So to start I would like to propose below.

1.European Senior Leagues – Custom/Standard Mode

- Add different European contract options like e.g. release after relegation
- Ability to offer Semi-Professional Contract -> Player will develop less, will have lower contract, cause he have family to feed and need earn more elsewhere
- Ability to loan player for a given period of time
- Ability to connect chosen team as Second Team (“Farm Team”) in relegation league/different country league e.g. some ICEHL/Alps Hockey League teams got their second team in Italian/Slovenian Leagues
- Add something like Club Reputation for European Leagues Clubs or possibility to have Division Value aside of League Value

2.European Junior Leagues – Custom/Standard Mode

- Ability to connect Junior Leagues to Promotion/Relegation Leagues linked to given clubs (U20/U18/U16 etc.). As also add European Junior Contracts option. Current workaround with changing farm league to junior league has its limitation. If team is promoted/relegated farm
team is delinked. Other thing is no ability to offer a contract for players in farm teams as mentioned in above point. As also obligation not honor contracts of farm team.
- Ability to add junior leagues with league value below 0.30
- Ability for newly created juniors to join junior teams in custom mode at the same times as in normal mode

3.Farm Teams – Custom/Standard Mode

- Ability to edit 3rd and 4th Farm Team if available in edit team screen
- Ability to offer contract for a farm team player when playing as parent club. Currently if I add Farm League after Game is Created I am not able to offer such contract even if I set correct linkage between farm and parent club
- Ability to connect multi structure farm teams e.g. AHL to NHL as also ECHL

4.Tournaments - Custom/Standard Mode

- Gaining season score points for participating in club tournaments e.g. Winning Champions League -> 1 season score point.
- Torunament will pick teams to chosen groups on basis of seeded pots. from best to worst team.
- Ability to add to tournament team from chosen place in a league e.g. 10th place, not only top teams
- Ability to create international tournaments with promotion/relegation structure in custom games (make user pay if he make a mistake of not having enough players)
- When creating new tournament - it will take highest financial points/budget teams on 1st tournament season just after creating a game

5.Custom Mode

- Ability to add Leagues in Opening Custom Game Menu without new players
- Ability to add promo/rel leagues during game
- Ability to preview custom leagues during "in the making" before game (some table with league values etc.)
- Ability to modify league values on 1st July (even slightly e.g. 0.01 point per two/three seasons)
- Ability to bulk upload list of players which should be generated in given years for given team with set stats e.g. I would like that in 2010 Connor McDavid will generate at the age of 13years even though current season is e.g. 1982
- Ability to mass delete players/staff ability to delete leagues
- Ability to edit league player age in custom game creation screen
- Ability to create u15 junior league together with draft age e.g.12-14. Currently it seems I cannot create junior structure in custom game to have proper potential players in age 12-14 as game creates them at the age of 14/15. My aim is to have e.g. WHL draft players which played in younger junior level not from newly created players
- ability to enter value with decimal places to rookie draft nationalities option
- Ability to edit Team Founded Year

6. Standard Mode

- Ability to add promo/relegation league in choose playable league screen which league value can be adjusted by players
- Ability to modify Draft Nationalities in Normal Mode
- Add couple more of playable leagues as Alps Hockey League/Slovenian International League/Italian League/Kazakhstan League/Slovenian National League
- Ability to apply to play in different close leagues as ICEHL. Real World expansions. Sth like ootp
- Ability to edit number of teams in different real leagues

7. Standard Mode/Custom Mode

- Ability to modify number of junior players should play in Given match(e.g.2 players below 21 years old should play in given match)
- Ability to enter the same team to two or more leagues e.g. ICEHL + Italian League
- Ability to import/export team from one league to another. e.g after one season I would like to transfer my team from Italian League to ICEHL
- Ability to automatically divide teams to different divisions on the base of geographic coordinates in promo/rel mode
- Ability to upload newly created/modified players from .csv
- Add possibility to have junior teams in senior league e.g. Slovakia U20 in 2nd Slovakian League
- Ability to edit regions
- Ability to switch players in edit player screen
- Abilitty to edit line chemistry (if it's hard maybe ability to edit those only for newly created players?)
- Ability to build Junior/Training facilities to boost juniors/seniors development
- Ability to add referee ability screen and make it editable
- Ability to edit rest of staff preferences e.g. (line matching tendency, goalkeeper handling, favor veterans, innovation, loyalty)
- Ability to add staff
- Ability to turn the player into staff
- Ability to add derby name to the rivalry
- Ability to edit league minimum salary
- Ability to sign player as a coach/scout etc.

Don't know if this is already available but also ability to develop potential abiltity of new junior players through successes on international or Club Competittions area by given country/club
-ability to change team id so farm teams would automatically change for those team too

Some ideas from my end below.

For online league play
  • Fix injury counter for players moved to IR via teamfiles. The counter is always at zero.
  • Enable control over minor league teams. I realize there might be technical limitations here but there are several GMs in our league who would like more control over their minor league teams.
  • Option to disable the finances feature. This is causing issues for us while simming, especially the annual finances on July 1.


Not specifically related to online play
  • Possibility to separate between regular IR and LTIR? Regular IR would remove the player from the Active Roster, but not give cap relief. LTIR would give cap relief but require the player to stay on there for a minimum of 24 days
  • Player contracts expire on or around June 22, or a temporary increase in the contract limit by, for example, 10 contracts, similar to the offseason salary cap cushion. This would enable GMs to sign draftees with expiring rights during the Jun 23-30 window, without having to move expiring contracts if they are close to the contract limit.
  • Complete freeze on Free Agent signings between July 1 and the draft, to prevent Free Agency from starting before the draft.
  • Improved contract extension feature. I have been on about this before and I think there have been improvements in this area in FHM10. However there are still some things to refine. One is that unproven pending RFAs coming off their ELCs often ask for 3-year deals and need to be negotiated into accepting 1- or 2-year term. IRL these players normally get 1-2 year extensions, would be great if this could be mirrored as a default in FHM.
  • Add full and modified (partial) NMC/NTC. This would add to the realism. Also if it could be possible to add NMCs/NTCs by season rather than for the entire contract that would be great as well, for example star players signing big contracts coming off their ELCs typically have NTCs kick in when they reach UFA age.
  • Show training camp developments for players in minors/juniors/European leagues. These are currently not shown anywhere, I guess because training camps occur at different times for different leagues.

I love everything you all have been doing to add historical teams and historical leagues.

I would love to see an option to use the historical player database to add players to the draft randomly each year. (I think OOTP calls it "Random Debut Draft?" It's been awhile since I've played OOTP since I love FHM so much more
-The ability to import historic players in bulk (By team, by draft class, or another category?)
-Connect farm or junior teams to a primary major league team with pro/reg.
-Adjustments to finances and attendance with pro/reg.
-Ability to edit regions and create new regions/countries.
-Anything that makes the game more "sandbox" appeals to me.

Thanks for this thread Sebastian, just a few I can think of atm that have been fresh in my mind.

1) Individual player shot quality data tracking, I know currently this is available in the post game breakdown screens - I would love it if this was viewable cumulatively in one of the 'advanced stats' tabs - just to see WHO is taking poor shots consistently/getting in good scoring positions etc. Helps with immersion to visualise 'who is where' on the ice the most

2) An addition of expected goals, whilst there are a few ways to calculate this metric - utilising the shot quality data to create something like this would be cool - see who is overperforming/underperforming their xG etc.

3) Making your manager character scaled to the job you take - having the current setup whereby your manager is the same should you accept a job in the CHL or a job in the NHL isn't always viable, there has been plenty of discussion amongst myself and other players about how having low attributes when getting a first time job in the NHL can end up causing issues with tactics not being effective enough in comparison to your competition. As you can see, he is very different from how a default coach would start when usually accepting an NHL job.

4) Staff improvements/clarifications - The way staff are currently, it almost feels as if they are an afterthought - what matters with staff? Why? Do they matter at all? These are questions I've felt getting stronger and stronger for me since I started playing religiously with FHM8 - At the moment I just try to hire whoever has the highest ratings and then leave it, that's it - there's no thought to it or enjoyment from building certain staff groups etc.

5) In Online Leagues, PLEASE don't tether the users inbox to the commissioners inbox settings. It's so frustrating to clear your inbox and then each time a sim is run it's entirely filled up again as if you made no changes. I'd love to be able to set my own settings to just get news about my own organisation and then have it just stay like that - currently it just gets ignored because of this.

6) Change staff ratings to be displayed as integers instead of a textual description - the 1-20 system is so ingrained in me from sports management games that dealing with this in OOTP and FHM has always been frustrating. In OOTP it's slightly less because the default ratings I play with are the 20-80 scale - so I'm already used to that. In FHM I'd love it if staff ratings were just shown as numbers, so that I can figure out who to hire from the default staff search screens/your team staff screen rather than having to click into each player to see their actual ratings and totally ignore the textual descriptions. (or go to the effort of trying to work out what each text description equates to in terms of attribute range but that doesn't seem like much fun).

7) Have the game use a global graphics folder - when working with custom graphics, the current workaround is to create a custom graphics folder and replace the quick start default with it, however you need to keep a copy of the custom one because each time the game is updated it will overwrite some of the custom graphics. I would love to, like the facegen folder currently, just have the game pull from a custom graphics folder for everything - so that I don't have to keep overwriting my quickstart folders or alternatively keep replacing the graphics folder in every created save game (this can start to eat up a lot of space if you're creating a lot of test saves etc).

8) Amend the main roster view 'Waivers' column to include helpful information, currently the binary system of YES/NO is not helpful in the offseason, which is a crucial time for figuring out your roster and call ups/demotions. There IS however, valuable waiver information displayed on the players card in the section where it says 'Waiver Eligible' - 'Yes(2025)'. If that information 'Yes(2025)' was just displayed on the main roster screen it would make for a much easier time navigating this issue, here's a thread with a bit more of a discussion and feedback from other players who were experiencing this issue - https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=351450

9) International Management feels like an afterthought currently, when the world juniors came around irl I was so hyped to try some international management in FHM, really thought it would be a fun way to experience the game and I was left confused and frustrated at the experience, I rarely see anyone talk about or share stuff to do with international management and the flaws I experienced almost immediately when playing it felt like a good reason why, here's a thread I shared at the time - https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...10#post5061310

11) This is probably my NUMBER 1 request in terms of a QOL improvement that I cannot believe is not already in the game. On the free agents screen, please include the players contract demands on that screen! Having to click into the negotiation with the player creates a huge problem in both single player and multiplayer, once you click into that player you actively begin that negotiation with him and clicking out of it again will just 'leave the player hanging' or actively 'closing the negotiation' with the player will piss them off!! If the years and salary demand were added to the free agency screen then you could see at a glance, "Right that player is too expensive for me" or "Oh i dont want to sign a vet to a 4 year deal, I'll pass on that guy" etc and then only enter negotiations with people you actually WANT to sign!!! Right now in online leagues, it's clicking, then noting down salary numbers, then exiting without saving, then reloading then clicking etc etc. In single player games it's the same too - it makes the offseason annoying at times. This would be a huge improvement IMO.

12) Something I see requested all the time for players that enjoy playing solely as the GM, please add a legacy control to 'allow user to set lines' despite not playing as HC. So many players post about this on the Discord, on the subreddit and here in the forum. I see this soo often from newer and more experienced players alike. It would allow players to enjoy having a head coach but also control the lineup because sometimes the coach AI will do questionable things with the lineup decisions.

13) Tracking and displaying of per line data - it would be great to be able to see which lines are performing well as a unit, why and how they are performing well etc - I know this is probably going to cause some strain on the back end which already results in slower sim speed over time but it would just make playing as a GM feel more immersive. Individual player analysis is great but per line would be a step up imo.

14) This doesn't feel like that constructive of a suggestion because I don't have a direct solution to suggest to improve it but sim speed - I like the use the 2D engine for as many games in my universe as possible (because it's new and gets worked on and is the future of the game etc) but sometimes the sim speed can be painfully slow even super early on in a save. I know that's a mammoth task though but just thought I'd tack it on at the end.

I'm also on the Beta team so have been posting stuff in the previous beta threads for each build be it suggestions or ways to improve little things etc so I've tried not to re post any of those into this thread as well as I assume that Jeff/Yourself will have already seen everything in those threads etc.

1.) A rebuild of the recruiting system in college. The modified draft is unrealistic for this mode. Coaches should be able to recruit over the course of months or years, like in real life, and secure commitments before national signing day.

2.) Also, I'd like some way to finance new arenas and facility upgrades in college play. (Some sort of institutional support or alumni/donor happiness dynamic.)

1) Fix schedules for Custom games. At present, there are way too many back-to-back games

2) As I request every year - Add html output for stats.

3) Add ability to import a league history (both players and teams) via csv.

Please note, I LOVE this game and my list is not meant as a criticism of any kind. I just see potential greatness in this game!

More than anything I’d like to see the team really prioritize AI trade and roster logic. A major rewrite of AI logic would really benefit the overall play experience and I think could be very marketable for the game as it becomes less exploitable.

-The abvility to edit the league AFTER July 1st, even if the changes don't kick in until the following July 1st.

Yes on AI trade logic. It happens sporadically but more expiring contracts/rentals should be moved and it’d be nice to see some teams go all, selling off picks and prospects.

I’d also love to see a more immersive NHL Trade Deadline experience. Somewhat like how the Draft Lottery and HOF announcements are made. Click through and see what trades are being made as they happen. Let it disrupt your plans or even see news reports of players linked to some teams.

I may be on the minority on this one.

One thing I would like to see if a bit more interactivity and aliveness in the contract system.

The current system has a job offer come through and you’re got a day to decide or they give it to someone else. You can negotiate/cancel to adjust your salary but that’s it.

I’d love to see it come to life more.

- If they want a top half finish, why not guarantee you’ll get them a top half finish. Sure you may get a higher salary or the role over another candidate but now you’ve got to deliver what you’ve promised.

Speaking of more life, between pre-game/period talks

Currently we have the option to try get a player to understand their role, or tweek how we play but what about an option for a team talk.

‘I know we’re tired.. we played back to back to back games, but beating *insert rival team name here* will push us into a playoff spot’

Or
‘I know we’ve had a run of bad form, but so have they. We have a chance to get an easy W here. Let’s go out and put it all on the ice’

Things that make the game world feel more alive, that’s what I’d like to see

- Much more focus on ingame stats for players and teams. Like in Out of the Park Baseball. Stats matter.

- Fix facegen for players with foreign names (little frustrating..).

- More flexibility with custom player profiles. Like contract, special abilities or line chemistry in profile side.

Some ideas

IMPROVE THE DRAFT PAGE
- Allow putting players onto the watchlist from the draft page. Right now, if you want to scout them more you have to shortlist them and then put them on the watchlist.
-Allow the "compare with" feature as well

ONLINE PLAY
-Control of AHL/ECHL affiliates.

MORE STATS
-The newer box scores are great. Can we get season long cumulative totals on possession times
-Individual player shot quality might be a bit much to ask but would be cool too
-OGR and DGR breakdowns to carry on so can see what guy did in past seasons rather than just the overall
-More breakdowns of stats for special teams. Never know who which line combos are getting scored on PK.
-Fix the long time issue of LDs getting better GRs than RDs. Makes the stat pointless particularly when guys play both over a period of time.
-Like the increase of stats in the game over time. It is a sim game so more stats always a +++

Is that something different than "Random Debut" we have in FHM? And if so, what exactly does it do in OOTP?

After Choosing to play a game and then selecting to SIM it instead of playing/watching it -- the first screen (before you get to the box score) should be revamped -- make the final score of the game easier to find and read. The only location for that score is in the top left corner among an entire list of recent scores against that team -- and I don't even know if it was an overtime or shootout win until I reach the next screen.

Also, how about a list of just the goals/asisists per team. I can't even get that until I click to the next screen, and I have to pick between the goals and the penalties in each period to see who did my scoring.

My random stream of consciousness list.

- As someone said, NHL IR vs LTIR.

- In the NHL, you shouldn't be able to waive (or otherwise send to the minors) injured players.

- When looking at any kind of screen listing players (rosters, trade block, waivers, searches, whatever) I'd love some kind of visual indication if a listed player is already on a shortlist and/or the watch list.

- When doing trades during the draft and team X has the next pick and I want to trade up for that pick, if that team has multiple draft picks in the round I'm targeting it's very hard to tell if I'm asking for the right pick in the trade offer. Some indication somewhere (on the draft screen?) when a team is next to pick exactly what pick they're using (it's their pick, it's team Y's pick) would help.

- I always let my assistant manage the scouting and I find the tournament reports useless. I'd just as soon not have them or at least be able to unsubscribe from them.

- I might be the only one who cares, but I'd sometimes to play a "start of season" roster but still have the attribute updates that are made to players in the various updates to the game. Like, I want your latest thinking on how you rate the players and what they can do, but sometimes I want that and to start the season the way the rosters started off and not a sometimes crazy post trade deadline roster.

My requests are simply cosmetic and minor really.

1. Can we please have an option to stay on the page we're on when we click the Continue button. Right now you get taken back to your Manager page, or mail box if you set it that way. I'd like to stay on the page I'm on - I mean I went there because that's where I wanted to be. Having to navigate back to where I was every time I click Continue is a bit of a nuisance

2. This would tie into 1 a bit, can we please get bookmarks? And have the ability to set our Home Page and Starting Page? Not sure how difficult these things are, but they're in OOTP.

As I said, not high importance, but definitely nice to have.

I'd like to see:

Fixes to trade system. Right now in Historic mode we can get every top draft pick in every draft by trading some low picks and players and keep our teams winning the Cup for decades even with trade difficulty turned up. I actively need to stop myself from getting every HoF player in history.

Fixes to the bugged draft year picks on Historic mode. Teams offer picks from the previous year, which seem to actually be future picks with the wrong year.

I don't even know if this is possible, but the game layout on an ultrawide screen is tough since all the things I need to click are way more spread out. Would be nice to be able to use standard aspect ratio even on an ultrawide screen.

If you build a new arena and forget to name it (at least in Historic mode), it will never be completed. On the completion year, no notification is pushed and it just resets to the previous arena. I wasted 3 years because of this. Adding the ability to change the name after you sim past annual budget could help, as well as a notification popup when the arena is completed, asking if we want to keep the name we selected or change it.

The draft years for players in historic mode are quite jacked up. I assume it has something to do with their birthday and how the game does drafts, but I would constantly run into players in the draft year before or after they were actually drafted. I want historic drafts to be the actual historic draft.
