2024 NFL Off Season thread - Part II

Rashee Rice wanted for questioning in multi vehicle crash.

If he was a driver, he is soooooooo stupid. Hope they throw the book at him. With all the troubles NFL players have been getting into w/car racing in the street, including his own team, there is no excuse for putting the public @ risk like that. And then hauling tail.

I'm assuming we all saw the video. The driver of the Lambo caused the accident. But both can be seen as driving recklessly. Especially at 6pm in traffic. I see the punishment as being mainly to his wallet and license. I'm guessing they left the scene because they had what they shouldn't have inside their vehicles.

I'm also guessing that someone snagged the Vett's plate while it was sitting there against the wall, and before he took off.

Bills send Diggs plus a 5th & 6th to Houston for a 2nd.

Stroud going to have some nice targets to throw to this year. Of course Diggs will need to learn to check his ego at the door.

Not sure what the Bills plans are? Maybe looking at WR with their 1st?

Nick Caserio is doing an excellent job as Texans GM so far imo

I kinda think the Bills see Diggs off the roster as the big win.

I personally believe WR is the least essential position in football.

Agreed - I think this team is on the verge of a long run as a serious contender. Not a Texans fan, but happy for the org after the rough years they've been through.

They can make average quarterbacks look good. But I agree, they're not the reason you're winning championships.

I think the trade helps both teams. Bills get a 2nd rounder next year by off loading their 31 year old WR. Houston doesn't risk much if it works out for them. Diggs has four years left on his contract, none of which is guaranteed past this year. They can release him at any time without dead cap.

Man, I don't know... Diggs is a singular player for sure but he's a headache I've seen (aptly which is why I'm repeating it) described as somewhere between TO and AB. There's a reason why Buffalo, while still their QB's prime, dumped a guy of his caliber and ate $30M of salary to do it.

Now he's going to go off to a team with a young QB and pretty new coaching staff and... all fingers are crossed that he doesn't just start running the show himself and/or that if he does, either CJ Stroud has the wherewithal as a 2nd year guy to tell him to shut it or Demeco Ryans as a 2nd year head coach does. This trade is absolutely not without risk for the Texans...

What risk for the Texans? Their just basically giving up a Vikings 2nd round pick from 2025. If he sucks they can cut him next year with zero dead cap.

The biggest surprise is that it happened at 6pm. Typically this stuff happens after 2 am...

Paging Mr. Tagovailoa...

I'd probably place WR's above RB's in the pecking order, definitely in importance, and slightly from the perspective of available & serviceable talent in the free agent and UFL ranks...

Reread my statement and you should be able to figure it out.

Just heard the Texans moved the rest of Diggs bonus to this season & voided the remaining 3 yrs of his contract so that he can become a FA in '25.

I figured it out not long after posting. The restructuring of his contract takes care of that. Hopefully.
