The "show BABIP" toggle ended up in Global Settings, left-hand side, just above Coaching settings.

Exactly, indent shows they aren't an individual rating, but instead are a part of the contact group. IMHO it would be more confusing to not have them indented. There was a reason and it wasn't just "because".

It's different from what has been for a long time so people get upset. Reminds me of the reactions Jim Gindin has gotten with the new gui for Front Office Football.

I don't think it looks much different than the old way. Like when I went from the 1-20 scale on my player cards to the 2 - 8 scale, it takes some getting used to.

If they make a change I hope it's to have both the old and new, or able to be modded in the skin folder.

Doesn't matter what the reason is when it looks absolutely awful. If something looks that awful you come up with a better way.

Things still need to be aestheticly pleasing while being functionally correct. So yes the indent shows it is part of the above rating but aestheticly it looks awful.

So yes it has a reason. Yes it's functionally correct. But yes it looks absolutely awful too

Hopefully the indents will still be an option?

Of course. It's more about the order of the other ratings... It'll be back to Contact, Gap, Power, Eye and (if BABIP is not displayed) Avoid K's.

Somebody literally asked why the bars were changed and moved. In the context of a user's question the reason does matter.

One related question: Does this mean that now if two players have the same Contact rating but different Power ratings then the player with the higher Power rating will have a higher expected batting average (since HRs, determined by the Power rating, are no longer included in the Contact formula)?

Absolutely correct. A 60 contact 40 power player will have a lower batting average than a 60/60 player

I'd like to thank the team for putting in BABIP, and for indenting BABIP and AvK under Contact, as well as indenting HRA and PBABIP under Movement. They were badly needed by way of visual explanation and storytelling.

It's perfect, and exactly the correct way to do it.

And as a some-time visual artist and writer of both words and code, let me just add that they're well visualized and the indentation size is just about perfect.

Apologies if this has been answered somewhere, but I haven't found it.

Is there anything that goes into the Contact rating other than the BABIP and Avoid K ratings? That is, does the contact rating give any information that isn't already provided by the BABIP and Avoid K ratings?

POWER used to be a part of it, no longer.

Have to agree with this. It really shows when you look at the players ratings page where the overall is indented but the right/left split is not. IMHO it makes a nice distinction between the contact skills and the gap/power/eye section. To my eye, on the right side with the splits, it just all runs together.

Maybe after the release rush, sometime over the summer patch cycle, they can add an option to remove the indentation for those that don't like it?
