The problem isn't in the size limit, but the file limit. While the storage size limit is above 10gb, the file limitation from a screenshot I saw in 2022 was only 10,000. That's a problem when a single standard save will have over 3,000 files.

We'll be looking more into the cloud saving after launch. I expect this functionality to make it into the game at some point in a way where you can manually select which saved games go to the cloud and which don't.

I regretted it.

The automatic updates make it more than worth it.
Auto updates are great until you load up a game only for your league, you spent hundreds of hours on to be scrambled and no way to recover it. No advance warning, no way to opt out, all that work is just gone. I regretted using Stewm then
That's the risk you take with auto updates and this company. I'll never trust them with auto updates ever again.
The control I have over my game not being destroyed without any warning more than makes up for not using Steam.

I wonder if STEAM gets a cut of the sales of OOTP?

Is there currently a way to transfer games between machines? I have two that i regularly use, one is a PC and the other a MacBook Pro. Would love an easy export/import if cloud saving outside of steam won't work

I bundle up my entire league/save in a .zip file and use dropbox, it is not perfect, and it takes some time between zipping and uploading. But it works

I do hope OOTP joins the 2010s at some point and gives us cloud saves.
It is perfect for a game like this. The requirements to run the game are quite low, so it can be ran across a wide variety of machines.

But the lack of cloud saves and having to rely on other methods or USB drives is just a constant PITA.

I have every other game I own on Steam including a couple baseball ones like Digital Diamond, Baseball Mogul and RBI Baseball. Always thought about putting OOTP on Steam. Probably save me room on my external drive.

I went to Steam, but have been back for a few versions ever since STEAM limited accounts to one working version at a time. By that I mean, if my grandson is playing BLOONS TD 6 I can't play OOTP on another computer.

So I buy direct so I can play OOTP while he busts ballons.

Nothing better than computer gaming with your grandchildren. Although they always win (for real) no matter their age.

Weird because I have play OOTP even when my internet connection was off... so you can play without login to Steam unless something changed but I don't see why it would have.

We are both logged in. Hard to not login to STEAM when you own it.

I think what he's saying is that you could launch OOTP without an active Steam connection if you wanted/needed to.

I know you can launch OOTP through Steam while fully offline, I did it during a storm this past summer.

Try this while the grand-kids are over and are playing.
