Which CF do you pick?
Which of these CF do you prefer? Scouting is 100% accurate.
Both are Groundball hitters with normal groundball tendency. The one on the left has Flyball Spray tendency, the one on the right has flyball pull hitter. Edit to add defense and personality. Left is 70 Range, 60 Error 65 Arm. High Loyalty Right is 65 Range, 50 Error, 60 Arm. High Work Ethic and Low Intelligence Last edited by Carbrenash; 08-25-2023 at 07:26 PM. |

How's their defense?
I'm leaning towards the guy on the right. After seeing their defense ratings the guy on the left. :-) Last edited by Will_L; 08-28-2023 at 04:38 PM. |

Guy on the left. And IMO it's a fairly obvious call.
Better baserunner. Better bunter. Better defensively. Better power. Guy on the right makes better contact, but not by that wide of a margin.... and that 25 HR potential. Ehhh. Guy on the left without hesitation. |

This easily pushes it in favor of the guy on the left. Better defense all around and CF is your 2nd most important defensive position. Its value is maybe a little outsized in the game, even, but in OOTP terms that really does mean that you're going to want to go all-in with your best CF. It doesn't hurt that they might be a wash offensively as well - in fact, adding in the guy on the left's speed on the basepaths, he might even get the slightest of edges in that regard.

I'd probably put the player on the left in CF, but I'd sure like to find a spot for the guy on the right in my line-up.
Does he play any other position besides CF? Possibly LF? There's a few things to like about him imo. He's a contact hitter - doesn't strike out much and has a decent eye. Although he can't steal bases, he does have speed. I'm guessing he'd get his share of XBH's. A player with that speed on 2B will score on a single most of the time unless it's an infield hit or the OF has a killer arm. He's also pretty good at the bunt, so I could see him hitting 2nd or in the 6/7/8 spot. Of course you may already have a better option for those spots, but at the end of the day, the player on the right has some good attributes. |

In our league there are some current MLB players with a batting profile like this guy has with minimal power, and they are doing very very well with hits and XBH. |

there's some current MLB hitters in this league with high CON and GAP, but have very low POW. They are some of the best hitters in the league.
