Split up Strategy Delegation
I'd love for there to be a way to let my Bench Coach handle the player strategy sliders for me, without taking away my ability to set my team-level rotation options, the ability to bench a player for X days, etc.

What's stopping you from doing that now?
Go to your team strategy page, then use the option to ask your bench coach for strategy. You can still control rotations, benching players, etc, etc. |

OK, then assign player strategy to your Asst on your Manager preferences page.
Not sure what the problem is. You can still bench players for X days, you can still control your rotation. |

That is not the case. Most of the Player Strategy screen becomes grayed out. My 6-man end-of-season rotation switches to a 5-man after a sim.

So basically what you're asking for is each individual player strategy choice have a setting to assign it to either Mgr or Bench Coach?

And by its very nature, there is no reason the AI should ever manage a setting that only exists to override the AI. |

There are definitely reasons for the AI to manage individual player settings though. I'm not sure if the AI actually uses it but one classic situation I can think of is: a team as a whole wants to run a lot but they've got one guy who's really bad at getting caught. I don't think the AI does this but it would be kind of awesome if it set that guy to steal less often than the rest of the team. Likewise, setting one guy to always hit cleanup or play shortstop would tell the AI itself that for that one guy, it behaves differently.
This makes a ton of sense to me and it also makes sense to design an AI that jumps through certain logic gates when a player hits certain thresholds. I guess at the same time real life managers loved using Harold Reynolds for years after he established himself as a guy who'd steal at like a 55% success rate at the rate they were using him...

I use the "ask AI to set up all player strategies" function. As long as a player doesn't get demoted to AAA (I give AI full strat control in minors) those changes will stay indefinitely until you choose to change them.
It's not a perfect solution for what you want, but the most important pieces of your team wouldn't be shuttling up and down, and you can manually re-run the function whenever you like without losing any control of the team. |

100 percent agree. The delegation options as a whole needs to be split up. There’s entirely too much that one setting controls

The development team seemed to agree that staff delegation needs to be more granular, and from the tone I was getting, this may very well be a priority for version 25. |

There's already like 10 different things that you can delegate to the AI. I agree that sure, I'd love to have even more granular support for that kind of thing but man, this game is already soooooo freaking inaccessible to newcomers...

This is something that needs to be done though...in fact, it will help novice players by enabling them to delegate responsibilities they may not understand or want to concern themselves with just yet. It will actually help them "learn" the game.

The delegation options in the manager settings is a drop in the bucket compared to the immense list of options that are at someone's disposal in the league settings, having a few more isn't going to complicate it beyond anyone's ability. |

A valid concern, to be sure. The game can be intimidating. But most sophisticated programs are. Word or Excel can do literally a million functions, and most of us use ten. The key is a clear path forward with default settings and a simple dashboard for the newbie. Just push play and go with it!
