Saved Games Issue

Is there a way to change where the game saves data/saved games? My game is on one drive, the data on the other, and I keep having saved game issues. Any help would be great. Anyone know how to contact Tech Support?

When you install the game and you choose the drive to install it to, everything game related saves to that drive and within the folders/subfolders of the game data at that point.

I think you have to manually tamper with things for it to be any other way. And if you're manually tampering with things and then posting a new "tech support issue of the day" every 24 hours, well...... stop tampering would be the suggestion

See this post about "custom data path" and steamlibrary.

I'm not tampering with anything. I had a clean copy of the game and it won't save. I wouldn't have a tech support issue every day if either the game worked right or tech support would answer any of my previous threads. And the game is saving things to a different hard drive than the one the game is installed on. So if you can tell me why or how to change that, that'd be great.

Did you submit a support ticket?

https://support.ootpdevelopments.com/portal/en/home

You said in the bug report forum that you were messing with the facegen pack and using the beta, any other changes made?

Did you try completely uninstalling/reinstalling?

Did you make sure that the game was completely removed before reinstalling?

There's an option in the game settings, under the Troubleshooting tab called "Force game data re-installation", you could try that.

No, I didn't submit a ticket. Sorry - new to all this. But I will.

I did try to use the FaceGen mod, but that was many re-installations ago and I've cleared my PC of that.

I have tried countless times to uninstall/reinstall. Trying a new game now after a complete scrubbing of the game and a brand new re-install. Already got an error, but I'm going to see if it works or not. Thanks!

No it doesn't. I installed my game on my E drive and the game saves are on my C drive. That's the way it came out of the box.

I'm very surprised if it does that for both you and the OP. I've installed countless versions of this game on my F: drive and all of my saves are on the same drive by default.

f:\programfiles(x86)\OOTP24\data\saved_games

And every year since forever, I remove last years OOTP completely from my drive and do a fresh install of the new game. Manually tell it to go to the F drive and then let it do it's thing.... and it saves everything to that same path by default at that point.

Super weird that it's different for you guys if nothing was tampered with.

I have a "saved games" folder in my E drive install but the actual saves are on my C drive in "My Documents". I'm using the Steam version so maybe that is the difference. Also my operating system is on my C drive. Yours is apparently on your F drive.

I didn't ever consider that you guys could be using the game thru Steam. My fault there. I've always used the game independent of Steam, so by default that's where my brain goes and when the OP said his game data was on a completely different drive, that just triggered red flags everywhere for me given his issue was specifically saving games.

My OS is on my C:, but ALLLLL of my saved game data, regardless of whether it's a Steam game or not, does save to my F:, but has I have the Steam program on my F: by design.

I think KQ's post above might be the solution... maybe. Good luck.
