Injuries
Does this look like a lot of injuries to you?
I play as GM/Mgr of Texas. My trainer is rated as good. Thanks. |

I'll be honest: not especially, no. Spring training is absolutely notorious IRL and in the game as a time when lots and lots of pitchers especially get diagnosed with long-term injuries, either as a result of pitching for the first time in several months or because they've been working out through an as-yet-undiagnosed injury all offseason.
It's not a great comp, obviously, since we're in mid to late August now but check out the current injury report: https://www.covers.com/sport/baseball/mlb/injuries 7, 8 guys injured badly enough to be on the DL is not out of the ordinary.

Where do you have injuries set in your sim? I have gradually moved from Normal to Low to Very Low. Honestly, I just got tired of losing too many players I wanted to see and track. On the other hand, minor injuries test a team’s depth, and that is important. They also give a shot to those Lou Gehrigs lurking behind poor Wally Pipps.
I see that several of your injuries are relatively minor, so you can expect to have those guys back, maybe with a rehab stint in the minors. And you should have a relatively deep bench and solid minor leagues with the Rangers. Curious how the other teams are faring. Are the Rangers something of an outlier? Finally, don’t know if you are only GM or managing games, but examine whether any of the injuries can be linked to tired, exhausted guys not getting adequate rest. I learned the hard way with a sim where I prevented the AI manager from varying from the daily lineups I set, such that players could not get a day off. (When the game announces that a player of mine has a day-to-day injury, that player sits for a day or two, unless the pennant is on the line.) The game does an effective job of penalizing that lack of care. Injuries can be the direct result of fatigue, as IRL.

I went the other way in my latest league, I bumped the injury frequency up to high (realistic modern day). Frustrating and entertaining at the same time.

It's not that I have too many injuries on the default setting, it's just they always hit me at the most inopportune times. |

Could just be a run of back luck. Even with injuries turned up I've had seasons where I never have more than a couple guys on the DL at a time, then the next year it seems like I never have fewer than 6 or 7 on there at all times.

No. Some days Since I don't trust my minors managers to get it the way I want each team run I set all the lineups and pitching staffs. I have days were I spend more time fixing lineups etc than actually playing the game.
