Ratings Don't Make Sense

Can someone explain why my scout would have this guy rated at 50 while his info shows him as a 40? This was off a scouting report. I tried to screenshot it and paste it here, but evidently I'm an idiot and can't figure that out, either. Thanks for any help you can give.

Use the attachment option when you post, browse to where you have your screenshot saved and upload.

You're really gonna start name calling? Lol. When I said I was done w/ that thread yesterday, I meant it. Haven't checked back there and have no intention to, because truthfully your act gets tiresome real fast..... and I know for a fact I'm not the only one who feels that way.

If you want to name call, go back to that thread and have at it. All you do is argue with people on here. It's old. Just as I told the person who DM'd me yesterday wondering what your problem was, it's a freaking message board - I forget you even exist the very moment I'm done reading your post. Apparently, it's your life though.

Take the name calling and repetitive arguments where you just like to hear yourself talk to one of the other open-argument threads that you have going at the moment; whether it be the player ratings one, or the pitcher babip one, or the WAR one or whatever thread that you're actively just looking for arguements blah blah blahing on

It's hard to know without seeing the screenshot but if you have scouting turned on, players are rated separately by your own scout and by OSA, which is kind of a centralized scouting system in OOTP, basically the game's version of the MLB Scouting Bureau. As you'd expect, OSA ratings are a baseline and generally will not be as accurate as your scout's but exist so you can use them as a second opinion when, for example, a guy is lighting up your minor leagues but your scout thinks he's trash (note: that could also be from a big TCR bump that neither your scout nor OSA has picked up on yet because they only rescout monthly but that's another issue altogether).

This is just speculation though.

In addition to what Syd said, also check what position this player is currently set to and check if that's the same position that the scouting report was issued for.

I will apologize for my role in this. I know reading this crap is awful for everyone else. That's why I attempted to leave it alone in that thread from the other day and I didn't throw the first rock on this thread. I see that first rock actually got removed by a mod in fact..... Regardless of all of that though, I'll apologize on my end because I do know message board beef is ridiculous... Sorry.

Let's be honest...this was not his fault...and I suspect that in truth, it was my presence in the thread that drove Kidd 05 u2 into a frenzy. I didn't do anything wrong either IMO...but there are a lot of people around here who just seem to take exception to me these days...so.

I'll offer up a sincere apology on my end because it stinks for others who are trying to read actual content on this forums - so I'm legitimately sorry about that.

At the same time, I left it all on that other thread last evening. Checked the board this morning, didn't even glance at the drama thread, made a little joke on this thread that literally wasn't directed at anyone at all - and apparently someone was still steaming. So, yeah. Given that there's a pretty clear track record of someone arguing just for the sake of arguing on numerous threads that were recently active, I probably shouldn't have engaged him last night. I'll take my share of the blame for that. As for today though --- yeah, I have no clue what that was about.

Anyway - it's over and done with..... To the OP here - there is some actual good feedback to your question in the middle of this thread.
