Coming soon: MLB trade deadline fallout roster set (8/1)
Hey gang…
I am working on an updated roster set using live start from 8/1 with the following: ETA next 24-48 hours. Hopefully sooner ![]() - All trades/players on new teams from 8/1 deadline - Updated/Calibrated prospects Top 100 list. Jackson Holiday is #1 with a 65 Potential followed closely by RHP Paul Skenes 65 potential. I’ve calibrated/adjusted prospects potentials. - Updated injuries - Contract extensions (Pablo Lopez, MIN etc) - Updates to other MLB players (Wander Franco, #2 in AL with 29 Stolen bases, now a plus-plus base stealer) - Updates to some personality traits (Adley Rutschman now “Captain” trait) - Updates to financials - Updates to MILB roster/age limits - Updates to market sizes - Updates to Fan Loyalty (OAK near rock bottom…) Probably more I’m forgetting. Will post when completed! HP Last edited by CBLCardinals; 08-02-2023 at 06:28 PM. |

Here's a couple of things that were mentioned in the beta thread for the current game version...
1. the potential is wrong (too high) for Rockies prospect Kannon Handy 2. Shohei Ohtani's "greed" (or "self-interest" if it has been updated) and "desire for winner" are too low. Suggest 199 at least. You said rosters as of 9/1 in your post, but I assume that you meant 8/1. Looking forward to this! |

Ohtani will be updated to also high “play for winning team” and maxed out greed, work ethic, and adaptability (i mean the dude is somehow awesome at batting and pitching…!) Angels will be adjusted to “WIN NOW” Will they re-sign him with their last-ditch efforts at the deadline to get to playoffs, or does he leave?? I make all of my calibrations with scouting off, then will turn it back on. Should be fun!!

I hope those Ohtani adjustments work. My trials with the default live start have been disappointing so far. In one case, he accepted a 3-year contract for $55 million from the Twins in late January. That seems very unlikely.
I think the game has his movement and control rated too low. Admittedly, he has given up more walks and HRs this year, but I think he deserves a higher grade on both than the game currently gives him. |

Future appears bright in Milwaukee!
OF Jackson Choirino up to #2 prospect in baseball (65 FV). Potential future star. RHP Jacob Misiorowski moves in to around Top 50 prospects. 55 FV. Elite stuff. Sal Frelick (60 FV) on track to be a very good player. Plus-Plus speed, nearly plus-plus contact. Devin Williams increase in stuff. Need Woodruff to get back from IL. (All above off top of my head) |

Sounds like Woody could be back as early as this weekend. Will these still play out randomly like out of the box OOTP? |

Baseball America are HUGE fans of Miso. Huge stuff, but (lack of) control may limit his upside. He’s ranked the #37 overall prospect in baseball in their mid-season update. Quero also received a slight bump up I believe. |

If there's any help needed I'd love to contribute somehow. I can redo all the defense ratings based off OAA/modern metrics etc.... So many weird/random defensive ratings in the "default" game, drives my OCD crazy lol.

Hey gang,
A primer and preview of my roster calibrations. Expected to release in a few hours… MLB overall potentials scale: 20-80 scale 20-30 / Red Poor Organizational player. Not much chance to ever be MLB caliber. 35-40 / Orange Below average AAAA types, up and down players, some lower level #5/6 type starting pitchers. Injury fill ins. Could be last person on bench/bullpen. Typical pitchers: Jordan Lyles, KC Ryan Yarbrough, LAD Patrick Corbin, WAS Typical hitters: Martin Maldonado, HOU Miguel Cabrera, DET Brad Miller, TEX 45-50 / Yellow Average Majority of major leaguers fill this bucket. Average-ish position players with potential hole(s) in game (slugger, but zero speed and below average defense or elite defense, poor batting skills). Talented players. #4 type starting pitchers. Typical pitchers: Kyle Hendricks, CHC Brady Singer, KC Mikes Mikolas, STL Typical hitters: Teoscar Hernandez, SEA Brandon Belt, TOR Austin Hays, BAL Future talents: 55-65 / Green Good Fairly wide range here. #2-3 starters, good to very good players that are quality, but not quite level of the elites. 55’s probably around #3 starters, 60-65 #2 starters. Typical pitchers: Justin Verlander, HOU (65) Tyler Glasnow, TB (65) Luis Castillo, SEA (60) Pablo Lopez, MIN (60) Zac Eflin, TB (55) Nestor Cortes, NYY (55) Typical hitters: Paul Goldschmidt, STL (65) Marcus Semien, TEX (65) Randy Arozarena, TB (60) Bryan Reynolds, PIT (60) Joey Gallo, MIN (55) Ty France, SEA (55) Future impact talents: Jackson Holliday, BAL (65) Grayson Rodriguez, BAL (65) Paul Skenes, PIT (65) Jackson Chourio, MIL (65) James Wood, WAS (65) Dylan Crews, WAS (65) Junior Caminero, TB (65) Marcelo Mayer, BOS (65) Pete Crow-Armstrong (60) Evan Carter, TEX (60) Wyatt Langford, TEX (60) Sal Frelick, MIL (60) Endy Rodriguez, PIT (55) Max Meyer, MIA (55) Noelvi Marte, CIN (55) Tyler Soderstrom, OAK (55) 70-80 / Blue Great Superstars, best players in baseball. Legit #1 starters. Franchise-building hitters. Typical pitchers: Spencer Strider, ATL Zac Gallen, ARI Garrett Cole, NYY Kevin Gausman, TOR Zack Wheeler, PHI Typical hitters: Shohei Ohtani, LAA Freddie Freeman, LAD Ronald Acuna, ATL Aaron Judge, NYY Yordan Alvarez, HOU Jose Ramirez, CLE Future superstars: Julio Rodriguez, SEA (80) Corbin Carroll, ARI (80) Elly De La Cruz, CIN (75) Gunner Henderson, BAL (70) Eury Perez, MIA (70) Other notes… - OOTP seems to over rate catchers on overall/potentials. - Once the set is release scouting will be turned back on. To get a read of changes as seen above remember you will have to turn off scouting. More to come soon! |

How do I start a game with these rosters? They look fantastic! I hated going through every league and setting roster limits to 30. Can't wait to check them out. As a Cardinals fan, I hope you weren't too mean to the Royals

Awesome!! Funny thing is I am not even a Cardinals fan :/ My username comes from an OOTP online league that I was apart of for like 15 years (!!!) Royals definitely looking to the future. Maikel Garcia increased defense ability as he is one of the top OAA guys in MLB! Alec Marsh increase to potential as Baseball America has him as their #2 prospect. Carlos Hernández increases as he’s looked really good in pen this year. Ugh….and yeah Jordan Lykes is AWFUL, just like real life ![]() Those are off top of my head. Happy playing!! |
