Minor league ERA's
Anyone else has outreagous ERA's happen in the lower minor leagues few years down the road? I just recently moved from ootp11 to the new version and i've never had that happen in the old game. Not saying the pitchers are any good but when the whole staff has era's over 10 it seems ridiculous.

There is a setting for each league about controlling the in-game engine. I'd recommend trying that out and see if it fixes the problem. |

IME this can happen when your lowest minor leagues aren’t fully populated and/or don’t have a “proper” mix of players on their Opening Day. The game calculates LTMs based on situations where, like, 2 teams are playing pitchers at 1B because they only have 7 position players on the roster and then once those rosters get finalized, boom, stuff goes haywire.
The way to resolve this is by: 1. Going into the low minors before the yearly calc happens and ensuring that all teams have full (or bigger than full) rosters. 2. Copying and pasting your major league LTMs into the lower minors. Honestly I prefer doing the 2nd thing and there really should be an option to propagate LTMs downward (this also allows you to see, for example, potentially lower HR totals by kids who haven’t developed their power yet (they do play against guys with lower than peak Movement, granted) or leagues with inflated totals because they play in small or high-altitude parks like the California League). But you can still just do a screenshot on that page and then copy the values in to each league underneath. Even if you’ve got, say, 6 levels of minors, it should still only take you like 15 minutes…

Could also be all the pitchers are really relievers with low stamina. Because all the starters can’t go more than 1-2 innings, the relievers have to pitch every game, so they’re always tired and get lit up.

FCL, DSL, ACL(the rookie ball leagues) seemed to come up with weird numbers with default settings when i was looking at it. i went through some years looking at numbers on a test save awhile back, I think the batting average was ridiculously low, but on base was high. which wasn't really near the .242 BA/.347 OBP(2022 DSL) numbers i kind of expected. i don't really know how the automatically control in-game setting that's checked by default in the minor leagues works. i put them on auto-calc instead and i thought that seemed to look better to me. it's been a several patches though.
PCL(AAA) is kinda nuts for a hitter friendly environment - in 2022 ERA was 5.39, OPS .804. just something to be aware of, that can definitely deviate and blow up in the future if some good prospects come up |
