I’m pretty happy with this years version. I hope they never bring the templates back. If you want all that goodness you’ll have to DIY. Y’all will have to put on your big boy pants and put in the work.

Or, I dunno, go play something else. A board game maybe, or cards (I recommend Spades if you can get three friends to join you). Or go to a pub, rage with some like-minded fella about politics, sports, inflation, your mother-in-law.

No, just the templates. All the other content that was promised to me by the head developer himself, I want. Because he promised. Pinky promised, if I remember correctly. And word is bond.

But, just not the templates - those I don’t care about. Those I want to stay gone forever if only to cause grown men to go full Karen on these message boards. I can recreate the templates using 23. I can’t recreate the enjoyment I got from this thread.

Until we lose the Independent Partner Leagues. Because we all know how much the “but I had a save with the whole world in it you guys” set love playing the Indy Leagues.

The more loudly users talk about workarounds on these boards the more doors seem to get closed. There's a reason they asked this specific thing not be discussed here.

Take it for what it's worth, knowing none of this affects me. I don't have a dog in the fight, I only play MLB with MiLB.

Ootp wants to be on utmost good, spotless behavior. My guess is *** was aware and only made issue when the earning potential of an established developer combining with Perfect Team appeared. Another guess is they truly don't wish to take anyone to court and would prefer to get a slice via selling copyright especially if Perfect Team takes off.

We can all clearly agree that at the end of the OOTP23 cycle, there was a request from an IP holder to completely remove their unlicensed IP from the game. Do you think the lawyers for that IP holder just called it a day then? Or is it more likely that they've still got someone keeping an eye on it to make sure that people don't infringe on their copyrights, up to and including monitoring the official communications channels around the game to make sure their IP isn't just being recreated under the noses of the creators themselves?

This doesn't make any sense at all.

So they coded it into the game, then took it out so they could focus their time on money making features? Didn't they use some of that time to remove the international templates? Wouldn't it be smarter to leave it as is since that would not take any time?

Idk, these guys stood in The breach with ootp for a very impressive run. I don't think they held much back in developing ootp.
