I'm excited for it! I will probably be buying it in a week or two when I am ready to resume my save and hopefully any last minute bugs are shaken out.

Might be best to wait a few weeks. I have experienced nothing but crashes and this is in a fictional league during spring training games. I know others are having great results but that has not been my experience. I have installed the first two patches but they didn't solve the problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled but it didn't help.

submit a bug report. zero crashes here.

I totally agree! No crashes so far on my end of things and I have been playing since OOTP 13

I think it is great that most people are not having issues. I also have been playing this game for years with no major issues. That is not the case so far with 24 for me.

If the majority of users are not having issues and you are, then the issue is likely quite specific to your machine setup somehow (which unfortunately also likely makes it more difficult to diagnose).

You are probably correct. I will probably just request a refund and continue to play 23. It does work properly on my machine which by the way is fairly new.

I would just make sure in your bug reports to post as many details about your machine as possible.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. It still crashes. I mean, how would I know what month it was if I didn't have a brand new piece of software on my 2023 laptop that was prone to a random crash now and again.

No, no, I am simply referring to some nice changes to the UI. It looks much better, I think. And some nice touches in information display. Some thought has gone into this I think it deserves some props. And my game was running great, until I downloaded the latest patch. So, back to the drawing board in 2023. But, it still looks much better. And it was running great out of the box (before the patch, and that could be a coincidence).

Also, re patches and updates: I've (just) learned to never download and install a new patch because it exists. The rule for OOTP patches is this: if the thing aint broke, don't fix it. Meaning, if your game is satisfactory to you, don't update.

I feel this is definitely a very strong release as well...probably what 23 SHOULD have been. This is definitely the best OOTP to date IMO.

It's a shame of course though it came with a pretty big cost. SO while it's definitely s step forward in the evolution of the franchise, it is also a bit of a step back also in other ways.

Every year theres findings of some bugs that potentially ruin saves. Im gonna wait for a couple patches in and until someone puts together a template/quickstart with the removed intl leagues.

I noticed the discrepancy. Would you mind giving the reason for your polar swing between you original post that started the thread and your latest.

I have to admit, this is exemplary of why I am so skeptical of user reviews (both good and bad). Either your first statement was too premature to warrant such a strong endorsement or you indiscriminately express your opinion in the binary of extremes. Obviously, evaluations are subjective and you have every right to both make and change yours, but discretion in how and when to publicize them is- as they say- the better part of valor.
