Saved games ARE still altered

From the pinned thread on international leagues: "Existing saved games that you import from OOTP 23 are not altered and fictional international leagues are still available, though."

THIS IS NOT TRUE. If you import a save with a certain foreign league, it WILL BE ALTERED TO THE "SOUTH AFRICAN LEAGUE".

I am extremely disappointed. If I can't find a workaround for this, I will be requesting a refund.

It was pretty clear that the full post is referring to the other non-licensed leagues not being included in 24 and that those will not be altered in an import from 23. No idea why you would expect the league in question to suddenly not be affected.

I would expect that if the devs say 'saved games will not be altered', they won't be altered.

Because they were already altered in 23?

Hey, good news, since that was an import, you now know you can just rename the league and the teams and redo it. It took me around 5 minutes at most to import my league with around 25 years of history in it (also for whatever reason it didn’t touch my <redacted> league, perhaps because the name is different).

Ideally:

Now that all the other leagues have been removed, OOTPDev/COM2US would be able to:

wash their hands of the matter,
stop being so overzealous about anything that had [禁断のリーグ*] outside of the stuff they control,
read: let off the gas with the renaming stuff
and let user-created templates/mods replace what they used to provide.

* - rough translation of this: "forbidden league"

Exactly... every other sports management game since the beginning of time has had fan-distributed data for missing licenses. I'm not a streamer or anything, I don't think it's asking a lot that I'd like accurate names and all for my own personal use.

If the OOTP team felt that they could allow this then I am sure that they would allow it.
