Is it a good thing or a bad thing that this all happened probably at the low point of the year as far as interest in the game, and in baseball? Wonder how these boards will be once spring training starts and talks of the new version start to get people back here

probably depends on what the new version brings to the table, a really good new version could ease some of the tension. Another release with mediocre upgrades and it will still be a less than ideal situation. OOTP needs to build up some good karma pretty desperately at this point.

Not sure.

It remains to be seen how OOTP24 will handle this. Hopefully it won't be such a harsh scrambler once a version of the game completely lacking any [BANNED LEAGUE] data by default is released.
I am expecting there to be a data check implemented in the save import function for files which hadn't been loaded in the latest series of OOTP23 patches for one reason or another.

At that point it would be more than likely relegated to 3rd-party edits that ideally won't give OOTPDev/COM2US any sleepless nights.
Presumably as long as it's not being shown or shared by someone connected to them, or posted in a place that they have control over.

Whatever the cause, it's a damn shame this happened.

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

Misc tweaks to the scrambling of that league.
Why not actually tell us what's being done? This lack of transparency does nothing to rebuild the trust that's being lost more and more daily
