UPDATED MLB Roster set for 2023 season - with Steamer/600 projections - Page 5

Also note you will need to advance a day or two to officially “end” the 2022 season. My assumption is awards voting, etc will occur and need to manually assign for accuracy. ***

Here is what is NOT updated in the file:

- A few of the FA signings may not have 100% accurate contracts.... a few may be just yearly AAV

- Coaching changes

- Minor league free agents/Rule 5 picks not all accurate

- R/L splits for batters (Steamer only has overall projected stats vs splits)

- Some players may have odd ratings/talents assigned. For instance, a player may have a lower potential versus rating. I tried to catch as many of these as possible, but certain there are still some issues

- 2023 MLB schedule

- Top 30 prospects for each organization… although most of Top 10 should be ok

- Scouting turned off

- Minor league roster rules

- Season awards such as MVP, etc

A few other observations....

- Some players at the extremes of contact (or lack there of) may have contact ratings a little too high or too low

- Some players Gap rating/talent are probably a bit too high

Just giving heads up in case you see something that looks off.

My goal is to share this file "as is" with anyone interested.

I just tried following the link provided by CBL Cardinals in the post above and it took me directly to v5 of his project, which I believe is the most current version. Try the link in HIS post shown above.

Easiest way is to go to the OOTP Home Screen, go to settings, troubleshooting, and then click on "open folder containing saved games". Then copy and save the file into that folder. Go back to OOTP, click load game, and it should be there.

With the official release today of Baseball America’s 2023 Top 100 prospects list I plan to have another update out fairly soon. My adjustments may not have the prospect in the same spot, however should be relatively close.

Yes.
I'm not very good at explaining, when I'm not looking at the game screen itself but I'll try:
It's basically.....go to game settings from one of the drop downs at the top (LH side).....on the first screen, LH side, top, there should be a box to checkmark to turn on scouting. After that, you can set a few parameters....like scouting accuracy.....as you prefer. I usually just choose normal.

Unfortunately, I found several players that were showing as in different orgs, but were somehow still on my 40 man roster. Because you don't 'own' them, you cannot click the transaction button. I love the file but this really needs to be tidied up. I'm specifically referring to four players on the Braves that were either traded or claimed etc.

Quick way to fix that issue:

Make sure you are in commish mode

1. Place those players that are still on your 40 man that should not be on waivers and DFA
2. Once there, go to edit and remove the values of 3 days for waivers, and 7 days for DFA
3. In the editor screen, then click drop downs of team that player is now on

I’ve found it takes about 2 mins to do this whichever team you take over, and the CPU teams resolve themselves. Hope this helps!!

One last thing, the file as currently exists has draft pick negotiation off, but I don't see a way to toggle it back on, or when to do it.

Ok to enable draft pick negotiation-

Game -> Settings -> League Settings -> Rules

Check box that says "Enable Advanced Draftee Signees"

Curious if anybody has figured out how to rearrange the posting date schedule for the leagues posting players in May - I've been in a whole lot of menus and for some reason can't located that one.

File update NOW AVAILABLE BELOW!!!

- Scouting turned back on, and scouting directors assigned to each team. Remember to assign budget to your scout for 2023 season!!
- Fine tuned several Top 100 prospects, especially batters. I believe a few were a bit too high on overall potentials
- Some misc updates to various players

Please remember to ENABLE Computer AI for all CPU teams once you take over your team.
