They'd been acting like a troll throughout the discussion, so it was appropriate to interpret their latest remarks as yet more trolling. But as you noted, the semantics are really a minor issue here. What happened very much fits my definition of "corrupted," and that's seemingly true for others, but if your definition is narrower, that's fine. I think we'd all (except for the troll) agree that damaging save files when you get caught for not having the appropriate licenses is wrong.

Perhaps my interpretation of trolling was too generous. When I see someone suggest that it's actually okay for a company to intentionally damage a product after selling it to us because they actually lied to us about selling it in the first place, or to suggest that the intentional damage was just a "tinker," I assume that has to be a troll. I suppose to could just be corporate bootlicking, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.

But anyway, this is getting off topic.
