Question about Pitcher Velocity

Does velocity have any impact or is that already baked into the stuff?

If it does, in what way does low or high velocity effect the pitcher?

Thank you.

It's baked into the stuff rating.

So, it's purely window-dressing, and has no effect on play. I assume the devs have said this before? Thanks for the response.

No, NOT true. Velocity directly impacts the Fastball rating which directly impacts the STUFF rating. So when a pitcher's fastball gains an MPH or two, his fastball should increase in rating which should caurse his STUFF rating to go up.

Well, right, but this is PT, where velo never changes and so for all intents and purposes it kind of is window dressing.

Wouldn't velocity directly impact almost every pitch? Adding a few mph to a slider can make it devastatingly effective compared to its slower version

Either way, that would still be the same end result-what I am asking is if the velocity shown on the card has any impact that isn't already shown in the other ratings. It appears the answer is no.

Read the game manual. All is disclosed there. As with othes who think they know about real life,, such is not relebant.

And, yes, Sydd, this is PT the inferior, limited version of OOTP

Game manual says that velocity effects sliders and other pitches, and not just fastballs - you are incorrect.

Two questions...

1. You realize this is the PT forum?
2. Is relebant some term from the base game? Is it an exclusive pitch type?

Speaking of which, check this:

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=342336

We're at a loggerheads here, as PSUColonel believes that "Perfect Team" has more functionality than the single player aspect. I'd draw extra attention to how my original message never even mentions "Perfect Team" -- so after viewing an image PSUColonel came to the determination that the functionality discussed in the body of the message simply does not exist outside of Perfect Team ... must have been one of those big brain explosion type events

This guy has 10,000+ posts, some "blog posts" (I didn't bother checking them), and has been a forum member since 2002, so likely he's an "expert" on the missing functionality of the single player aspect of the game.

The simple answer is that if you're looking for Perfect Team info you need to come visit us on the OOTP Discord. We have all the information you want (and probably more that you want), also we have cookies.
