What in the world is going on w/ Live players?
I know there were several algorithm changes around live players being able to compete better w/ historical players... but so far it seems like most of the live players are out performing historical players, at least in my sample (70 games). Maybe this will normalize, but so far for me the numbers are substantial compared to historical players w/ far better numbers. Is it because entry pools are weak and standard deviation in these kinds of games can get wider?
Anyone know what kind of adjustments were made? Live players were always junk compared to historical players. Just wondering if something has flipped too far.

I’m glad that they made the changes to try to make Live cards more playable. Right now there are relatively few strong historical cards. As the season goes on, the Live cards will be more or less what they are now but the number of strong historical cards will grow significantly. At some point I’m sure that the balance will swing to the historical cards.

I’ve only been focusing on my Bronze tournament team so far so I haven’t checked on the Live v Historical performance in any detail. We all need the strength of the cards to creep up over the season. Otherwise our lineups would become extremely static and boring.

I am good with what they are doing. Last year in a few days there were many teams with all perfects.

No doubt, It got to where I wouldn;t even look at the LIVE Cards, but something is up this year...If you look and their REAL LIFE STATS season 2021 is missing and players like Corbin Burners not getting credited with good rating from 2021. All LIVE carda are missing 2021 stats on their REAL LIFE STATS...2020..skip 2021...we now in 2022..Burners with Video Games numbers last year should at minimum be a 100 with corresponding ratings..look at his real life stats then look at ratings on his 2022 Live card now |

The 2022 cards should be based on ZiPS projections rather than 2021 results (though obviously 2021 results will play a big part in the 2022 projections).
Burnes is projected for a BB/9 of 2.77 in 2022, a bit of a jump from his 1.83 in 2021 but also pretty far away from his 3.62 in 2020. That places him #183 amongst starters according to ZiPS so maybe a 62 control makes sense in that context. Chris Bassitt is projected for a BB/9 of 2.73 in 2022 -- so nearly exactly the same and has a 64 control. He had a 2.43 BB/9 in 2020 so if the ratings were based on 2020 then wouldn't Bassitt have a much higher control rating right now?
