Crashes or game freezing? See here!

Windows 10 . Went to desktop to check email in middle of game. After 3 or 4 minutes the screen blacked out for 10 seconds or so. When screen came back on the game had disappeared.

After the patch yesterday one of my teams became populated with the superstar, Jim Unknown. When I am on the roster screen I crash when I try to drag one of the Jims to reserver and I crash if I right click to try to remove him. So the team is half of Jims.

Now I appreciate being able to have such a distinguished player on my roster, but it hardly seems fair to the teams in my EL when I field such a talented team.

We've figured out the reason for these crashes and the corrupt files. We'll work on a fix.

Sadly, new build did not fix it. Will replicate the error and upload another trace report.

EDIT: Trace report attached. Settings change was made to only use OpenGL only for 3D. It got to the "waiting for server" screen, then crashed anyway. We may revisit this issue once PT is able to be released.

I started playing a league with the current year teams and up to date stats. Everything was fine for a few games and then tried to change some graphic settings and now I am unable to even open up the game which occurred after it froze on me when changing the settings.

- Crashes when I try to advance in a game. Haven't gotten through 2 games without it crashing.

Every single time I go to a teams "modify team color, logos and textures" and make a change...for example, if I set the stadium picture to one of those that come with OOTP, the game will shutdown back to desktop the minute I select a game and hit the start game button. When I return to the game, any changes I made will have to be made again. This is extremely annoying since 3D Classic is unusable at this time as well. I don't get any warning or error message that the game crashed. It just simply disappears from the screen.

If you can get us a trace file from after the crash, and before you restart the game, that would help. Thanks!

When you say this, what button is it exactly that you're pressing? Is it the button to go to the next day or the play ball button or something else?

If you go to the %appdata% folder on your system and navigate to the OOTP 23 folder there (typically the path would be something like this: AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 23\config) you'll find a file named 'app.cfg'. Delete that and try restarting the game and the game should load with default settings and let you in again.

Windows user here. Every single time i close out of the app and re-open it, it tells me i have to re-install. Error message: could not write to the following folder (game folder). I have re-installed both in the recommended and custom folder. I have restarted by laptop. Still the same error each time.
I am displeased.

Also can't click on complete trade, it takes me instead to the trade log button which is supposed to be behind that. So its basically unusable right now.

The buttons to advance innings, like 1, 2, 3, etc.

Thanks for the quick response but I neglected to tell you that I have a macbook air and your instructions do not seem relevant for a MAC because I cannot find what you provided.

Getting this message every time I load the game. Is this also the reason I can't get real player photos to show up in the game?
