Sure you have a right to complain. The question is, if this is of any value at this point? It's certainly not very helpful. As you can imagine, we are probably the ones who are the most upset about the situation.

Anyway, we work as hard as possible to launch PT very soon. We made some good progress today.

Take a look around you - that is EXACTLY what they are doing.
you just validated my argument perfectly..look at the math.

they started the beta 2-3 days before launch, and now they are delaying a major function for a week.

if they had started the beta 2 weeks ago, they would have realized exactly the same thing they realized this morning, and had 2 weeks to fix it before the launch date, and the entire game would be available right now.

again, i have not said bugs and issues are not allowed, i am saying dont release a partially completed game when you have exact numbers of how many people are still playing PT 22, and how many pre-orders you have received.

Not possible. Why do you think the release was delayed a month from when we would normally launch?

How is it not possible though? You chose the release date and now the game is delayed anyway.

Try thinking about it for a minute and I think you'll be able to figure that out

i mean this post with 1000% sincerity...thank you for the update.

i am sure you are very upset...you wouldnt be in the forums right now telling us what is going on if you werent, but the value of this, from my perspective is, making sure that you (the development team, not necessarily you specifically), know that this is not acceptable to at least a portion of your customer base.

thank you very much for actually replying to me directly, and for 20+ years of enjoyable games.

Today's Launch of version 44.

Is the version 44 still going to be launched today without PT? I pre-ordered last month, but I wait to start my franchise until the public version to take advantage of the patches. Thank you.

i assumed it had something to do with the actual IRL situation with the lockout and delayed start to the MLB season, but (perhaps because i do not actually work in software) i dont understand why that would have affected your development, unless your licensing deal was somehow affected so you could not actually use live players.

edit to add: and if that was the case, as i believe Lathum said above, why not tell us that things would release in stages...other developers do that all the time in games...certain portions of games (not DLCs, just features) are not always available at launch...thats not uncommon at all.

They've explained many times that most of the original delay was because of an engine overhaul and changing the PT server provider.

To be honest, I deleted this post because it is a waste of time to argue about who is to blame. I will wait for PT and enjoy it when I have it.

Imagine Markus and team gave in and said we would do a week of full public beta testing and we would reset PT progress next week. There would be much gnashing of teeth and rending of clothing and claims of further alienation.

I'm glad I switched over from puresim baseball in 2000 or whenever that was

Oh I get it completely. And it's much appreciated.

We totally even get the frustration and as Markus said, no one is realistically probably more upset and frustrated than we are about the issues that have come with the move to the new backend provider(which was not by our choice). So we really don't blame anyone for being frustrated, we do completely get it.

Think about that. As Markus said, there is NO ONE as upset as he and the team are right now, and while we banter back and forth about being T'd, they are working their tails off trying to move forward.
I'm not weighing in one way or the other about the delay itself, but the portion of OOTPs player-base that's affected by this the most (PT players) don't and won't come within ten thousand miles of an antiquated Internet forum. If you think a bunch of forum "hall of famers" (most of whom are seemingly resentful of PT) speak for the PT player base... you're way off.

So would you say they use reddit? Maybe Discord? Surely there must be a tidal wave of discontent among the PTers? Can't they just invest the money they will use for all of those microtransactions for another week or so? could be worth a few extra perfect packs if done right, no?

Markus, I say this as someone who has preordered and someone who doesn't give a damn if perfect team is delayed by a week until you fix the bugs or not. And you can take this advice or tell me to shove it, your call. That said, I've been in the customer service industry for years. Have managed, trained and even given speeches on what customer service is. So here is my statement to you:

You have passionate people who want to play your game (or this mode in the game) and they obviously care a lot about that. This isn't the time to say "there is no reason to complain"

Apologize for the delay. Say you are sorry the experience is not what they hoped and that you understand their frustration. That you are just as frustrated.

Then move on.

Unless someone is advocating physical violence or other nonsense, this isn't the time to "minimize" their frustration. Just acknowledge it and move on. Telling them to get a refund or that there is no reason to complain is unnecessarily dismissive and isn't a good look.

Take that for what it's worth. Good luck getting everything completed.

I think you missed the point... A few people in this thread were singled out as being the vocal minority, what I'm saying is the they are in fact not; they're just the minority here.
