Some early work using txranger's great but ootp23-borked Monarchs 1942 jersey. As has been said, the old jerseys files work as before ingame without modification and should not use the new normal maps but onfield they look like this example.

What color values are you using for the collar outline and O logo to generate your heightmap, which then is used to generate the normal map? I'm trying to keep it simple, ie use a standard, but it seems the normal map displays better in the player profile than it does onfield (first pic). Overall I think its a very subtle effect either way but may mean a lot to those intimate in their design.

The seams and zipper heightmap (second pic) was created with a black line (like the planket example provided) which indicates a low point, while white is a high point (like a button). I think anything lighter than black doesn't show up well on white jersey and I'm sure its worse for colored jerseys. Keep in mind in the 3rd pic (diffuse map), the zipper was included to enhance the effect. I'm still on the fence about these normal maps...

I think that looks amazing. have you tried using a light color for the stripes as a raised feature?

Have you thought about making a wrinkle and shadows layer for the diffuse map which would basically be another way around the normal map, wouldn't it? The game doesn't need the normal map to show the jersey after all

I don't know how much the 3D model can be improved, but it clearly lags behind the 2D model in clarity and definition

one other thing,

if you want to tone down the wrinkles I find that anywhere after 6 in Pre-contrast works pretty good

1) I have and although I don't have a personal example, I wanna say I did not see the desired effect: contrast. You see it in the pdf guide for Arizona where it "can" pop (buttons), but that's at high-res. You don't see the same effect for the sleeve or collar stripes. My eyes won't see the difference and for the "trouble" you go through to create the heightmap and normals...

2) wrinkles and shadows on the diffuse map would work. Again its a small effect at the size and resolutions we are working with now.

Understood, When I first saw the document that Jorin created and saw those high res models, My jaw dropped, so I was a bit disappointed when I actually saw the 3D models and the low res results.

I think maybe trying a shadow/ wrinkle layer on the diffuse template could make things easier.

Althought we could try and just make default jersey files and normal maps for all of the different configurations and just leverage those when making jerseys. That would probably mean a change to how you select them in game, like submenus and such

Hey, guys... does this mean our jerseys all have to be changed to work in OOTP23?.... if so, that is terrible news for people who can't design graphics.
Our graphics collection will be useless.

Tell me it ain't so, please.

To be clear, the prior graphics templates still work, both in the in-game 3D view and in the rest of the user interface. The only issue is that the jerseys get distorted when looking closely at the 3D models.

No, most jerseys still work in OOTP23 but there is so mesh challenges from around the belly button down on the jerseys if you use the old format. If you have large design near the bottom of the jersey like Silva's example with the Astros, it is more noticeable.

How about the reverse; do the new templates look good in the rest of the game, apart from 3D? I'm assuming they do, for obvious reasons.

I can't wait to get my hands on the game so I can start testing it all out.

Yeah. They look great in the 2d and baseball cards

Here is a first try using a layered Photoshop template I put together.

Not great but better than I expected. I want to work on adding an overlap where the buttons are.

Gotta say, that was more like than I like to do when playing a game. lol

I customized the sleeve stripes but the rest of the elements are straight from the zip file from Jorin, courtesy of Silvam14.

I'm more than happy to share the Photoshop Template, if anyone is interested

Making some progress... I am turning the styles into standard designs.

I have switched over to a format TXRangers started that is twice the size of the Silva option.

Can you download the jersey master file and add these layers? I do not have photoshop.
