I am eager to see how things like Shifting, and other things in the Strategic Tendencies, impacts results compared with 22.

I think playing with reflection can be problematic with a sim like this anyway since a thing that was imbedded into the game somewhere - that tiny clutch ability that the devs insisted they added somewhere - can be so small that it’s essentially undetectable. So yeah, I think you really have to regression test instead.
The findings are really interesting and I’m not sure they necessarily ruin the game… [spoiler]Not sure I’m on board with gap power being a straight up “xbh per at bat” thing; I see high-power low average guys with otherwise not terrible Gap ratings with very low double numbers. I was thinking these were just getting swamped by the 3TO but this is in a lower K environment. Luck might be a factor but I think luck only goes so far. I’ll be interested to see if that holds up. I also know that the game calculates the 3TO before anything else but if walks eat into HRs then… actually that’s not necessarily ahistorical. I’ve been reading these scouting report books from the 80s and a common refrain on players like Mike Schmidt is that they walk too much for their power. This was also a common complaint of Ted Williams. I think the attitude has mostly died because we realized that walks are really, really valuable, but I think a very selective hitter is often a guy who will forgo pitches over his part of the plate on certain counts, and it’s interesting to see that that is reflected in the game itself. It’ll be interesting to see how much of this holds up with the rewrite of the simulation engine.

I assume 23 does not track inside the park homeruns, sacrifice attempts, bunt for hit attempts, bunt hits etc. |

This is just straight up not a game like SOM where you can just look at a player card and get an instant understanding of how they're going to perform...

He was incredibly annoying. Kept bringing up political arguments. After a while, enough was enough.
