Wonder what all-new ratings balances for historical players means?

I assume this is something that’s going to be really impactful in Perfect Team where you’re cramming players from every era imaginable into a 2010 environment.

Operation Sports has always been very good about covering OOTP. One thing I have noticed, ever since OOTP won game of the year on Meteoritic, the press/media has steered clear of it...especially when it comes to reviews. I don't know why??? They still cover Football Manager as a management simulation, but somehow have really backed off of OOTP.

Has anyone else noticed this? Any thoughts as to why it's happened?

Its awesome that they got faces on to the 3d players, but why not names and numbers on the jerseys?

At least according to the trailer.

What does the updated Live Start Full minors mean?

Just that the full minors roster will be set for all teams full minors? Or will we get up to date stats for each minor leaguer?

It's a super niche game that most outlets don't have people that play?

Info has also been posted on Steam. Interesting to see this posted before Thursday night's conversation with Markus.

That may be true on some level, but the media used to pay closer attention to OOTP…and like I said, the certainty cover FM

FM is much, much larger than OOTP in terms of its fanbase, like I think it was an order of magnitude larger. This was part of why the partnership with the two products dissolved after a couple years: while OOTP does well for itself, it does well on a far smaller scale than FM does.

As of FM21, the entire series has sold just over 33 million copies. And it appears FM22 has done really well. My last purchase was FM16, and with all the mods, it scratches my football(soccer) itch. May upgrade to a later version someday. It appears that from FM19 to FM22, each one has sold more than two million copies.

FM22 is REALLY well done. I have to admit....I basically purchase this game annually for a couple of reasons.

1. To support the genre

2. To get useful ideas which could be applied to OOTP.

The UI is nothing short of spectacular. I also love how SI approaches "club dynamics" which is what is essentially OOTP's "club chemistry". I do believe they implement it in a more realistic manner which also makes more sense. They use a "triangle" heirarchy to represent different "groups" within the club. They aren't based on position, but rather leadership and influence combined with talent.

They're on the backs of the jerseys, but you can't see them until the pitcher gives up a drive to the next zip code, and everyone turns around to admire the moonshot.

Some good points! I always like the interviewing process when you're unemployed.

The one mod I downloaded goes all the way to level 23 in England, and several times I would start at level 9 or 10. It's very realistic the way you just can't take over a Premier League club when starting out. You can of course at the beginning, as you can pick any club, but not realistic, so I always apply for jobs, and go through the process. Funny when you apply to a higher level club, and then get an email basically saying the club thought it was comical that I applied and denied me an interview. A newbie with no experience, I may get Yeovil Town, but who knows. I've always hoped OOTP would do a similar process, but doubt it's in the cards for this version.
