Miami Giants

Miami Giants
The Giants were formed and financed in the late 1920s by a local black bootlegger and numbers king Johnny Pierce... Pierce died in 1937 shortly after renaming the team the Ethiopian Clowns.

Miami Giants sounds a lot more sports-like pro name than the EC... Always thought it was a circus name... And yet, they earned the distinction of being the Harlem Globetrotters of Baseball... Also, I had read that Hank Aaron used to play on that team before the Atlanta Braves acquired him for $10K... then of course, he had given us, fans, a HOF career...

Like what you did with logo/uni set!!

Montreal Black Panthers 1936

Montreal Black Panthers 1936

History: The Black Panthers were a team of African-American players from the Deep South who joined the Quebec Provincial League in 1936. The Provincial League was in and out of organized baseball over the years, and when it operated as an "outlaw" league Black players were able to participate. Officially-sanctioned minor leagues were still strictly segregated.
Interestingly, Montreal factored in the integration of white baseball twice: Jackie Robinson was assigned to the Royals in 1946 for one season before joining the Brooklyn Dodgers. But an earlier version of the Royals briefly integrated the Eastern Canada League when Charlie Calvert (also known as Charlie Culver) played six games for Montreal in May of 1922 before he was forced from the lineup. The same Charlie Calvert managed the Black Panthers during their two seasons in the Provincial League.
This is one of the most interesting jerseys we have ever seen. Chainstitch detail on the panther head, and a sleeve patch for Dow Breweries, who sponsored the Panthers.

Thanks Tx for all you do. I have a couple questions for you. I wanted to change the name in these logos do you remember what font you used? Also, how did you get that 70's vintage look? Desaturate, curves? The logos are amazing. I want to try and get a consistent look through the rest of the league.

Font is Highstories

If you mean the colors, then those were just colors I chose... Maybe search for de-saturated colors or faded colors and see what you come up with...

If I'm not sure exactly what color I'm looking for I find it helps to search Google Images for things like "1970s color palette". You'll get more options than you can possibly use.

Thanks Scipio, that helps as well. I assumed he used an adjustment layer over an existing logo. Do you have a 70's style league?

No, I have a fictional mid-century league using Txranger and No Pepper's round logos and unis.
