I feel your pain-Since the 19 version I am used to to winning the first two in a five game series and the first the first three in a seven game and losing the series. It happened again today, up 2-0 drop three straight and get bumped to gold level. The reward for failure, getting bumped up to gold.

Fifteen Down, Just One Bullet(s) Left

Our League sent 16 teams into the PT playoff wars for 2031 and, so far, without success. Gettysburg, at last report tied at 3 in the I172 Series, is the last OL team still hopeful of post season joy for their fans.

In terms of posting a list for next week, thought I'd try something different. This list represents what level teams will play at 2032, that is, in conventional reckoning, next week. Seems a bit simpler on the eyes for checking your friends list, which you should do now, and submit. Make sure you are set to "use Friends list." Rookie - Hartford, Burnside Stone - Sunday, Iron Maiden, Gear Terrace, Shoebox Iron - Otsego Lake, Sugar Hill, Lumberton, Las Vegas, West Burlington Bronze - Cleveland, Left Coast, Rte. 66, Port Ruppert, Gem City, Inland Empire, Daytona Beach, South Holland, Gettysburg Silver - Asheboro, Bluffton, Baltimore, Texarkana, Boulder City, Boston, New York, Keystone Gold - Silly, Kaipo, HelthWyzer, Algoma, Shinbone, Coney Island, Waffletown, Cedar Rapids Diamond - Paxville, Annandale, Cary, Nowhere, Lemp Ave. There you are. If we do our jobs, and the PT servers don't have a brain fart, we'll again have a half-dozen crowns next week. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 06-13-2021 at 09:06 PM. |

Port Ruppert Post Mortem and a Peek Ahead

The Mundys have settled into mediocrity, especially in Our League, which, to be honest, is the main focus of the team's aspirations. Management has been fairly absentee, and this season, the team landed with a thud, next to last in OL, and suffering its worst PT season ( and second losing campaign) at 66-96. The fault, Dear Brutus, is not in our stars. I have been spending the past few weeks getting my FHM7 historical league going, and, on Friday, added the last two expansion teams, to get it up to the 24 I will go with for at least a couple of decades. With that done, and the really poor results of this week providing a sting of motivation, I decided to spend a couple of hours today on trying to straighten out the Mundys a bit.

With a little more than 100 packs to open this weekend, and 440K in the Free Willie (Mays) fund, I set to pulling, with pretty good results. The Mundys drafted a 99 Adrian Gonzalez, who will step into a first base platoon with Roy Sievers. I also pulled two, count 'em, live 100's and soon the bankroll was up to just north of 506,000. With the account so flush, GM Ulysses Fairsmith set about trolling the free agent market and signed second baseman Bobby Doerr, who will replace 10-year starter Dustin Pedroia. The biggest move, however, was to submit all the completed missions and check the effect on the the minor league system. It revealed a farm brigade fairly bursting with talent. Farm Director O.K. Ockatur, Fairsmith and manager Luke Gofannon engaged in a 12-hour confab, emerging from the strategy session with a heavily revamped roster. Hurler Cy Young III, the grandson of former Mundy stalwart Denton True Young, from a previous OL iteration, right fielder Enos Slaughter, and catcher Roy Campanella were all added to the 26-man roster. Campanella will replace John Romano as the right-handed half of the catcher platoon, while Slaughter will push Roger Maris/Ralph Seybold into DH duties. Young is expected to join the rotation with Elton Chamberlain joining the bullpen to form the righty half of a Mundys' experiment with he and Sid Fernandez as twin stoppers. So, after seasons of neglect, the Mundys have attempted to shake their lethargy in search of their first OL crown in a decade. |

Coney Island, while looking in the AH for something to change the makeup of its bronze tournament team (great at finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th) noticed while looking at a card that the player was part of a mission that was complete. I went to the mission screen and realized I had completed several and had others that were close to complete. A bought some iron cards to complete a bunch more. The results of those packs financed adding Roger Clemens to the rotation and Kirby Yates to the bullpen without touching my PP balance. The moves have also pushed the last player, Paul Shuey who has been on the active roster since the Warriors opened their starter packs to the reserve roster.

My quest to improve the bronze team yielded the same results, 3 second place finishes yesterday. Fifteen packs is nice but I am regularly leaving packs on the table. |

				Ol B233 for 2032

The layout is attached. All teams have more than 20 OL games, as long as things don't change too drastically before the start at 10 a.m, which happens fairly frequently. My Port Ruppert schedule is an odd one, with no games in April of September, but 26 overall. The rest of OL seems spot on, except for rookie, where our two teams are in separate leagues. Interestingly, the three outliers would have given us a full complement in each level if they were actually participating. We are hopeful of having six crowns this season, with at least five teams in each of those half-dozen leagues. Good luck, everyone.

			Gold league:

OL teams is all but one division, with Waffletown and Coney Island off by themselves in the NC East and AC West respectively; but still should get enough OL games to qualify for the crown. overall, only 2 teams left at the Rookie tier (both in different leagues )... every other tier pulled everyone into the right league, so huzzah!

After finally hitting the wall last night where I lost my humour about how crap my packs have been, seeing that Annandale have ZERO OL games has p***** me off even more! Can't the devs put just a bit more effort into getting friended teams to actually play each other? Also, look how many logos are screwed up! At least it will be interesting to see Lemp Ave. and Nowhere do battle, after they didn't play each other last week. But I'm always a bit upset when any team doesn't have enough OL games. I hope Annandale kick some butt.

Reporting for Stone will probably be sporadic this week, not because of this reporter's schedule, but because of the league schedule and placement of the four OL teams. They are WIDELY spaced and it remains to be seen if any will have 10 OL games. |

As for the missing logos I have found that if you go to the troubleshooting menu and clear cache then when you restart the program the logos will be (mostly) back. |

Boy Stanley, I can’t believe how much you have saved for it Willie Mays!

I will give you some unsolicited advice. And it’s worth what you’re paying for it! I would be willing to lay down good money that Willie Mays will appear as a franchise hero mission reward for San Francisco. I think there’s going to be three franchise hero missions and again if I had to guess I would suspect he will be in franchise hero set three because I really can’t think of anyone else from the Giants who would qualify more as a franchise hero than Willie. There’s two ways you can approach Willie when he shows up. One, you can buy him off the auction house. He will be over priced right when he comes out of course. The other approach would be to complete the San Francisco missions that are out now and keep completing them until Willie comes out as a reward. If you do that then when he appears the incremental cost of getting him should be pretty low. I’m sure you have completed the live mission for San Francisco. Then all you need to add is the perfect Juan Marichal card (which relatively speaking won’t be that hard to complete, and is actually pretty useful), and then the team mission for the Giants. Completing those three missions would get you the Willie McCovey card. And again he’s at least semi-useful at first base! The other thing I would do, if I were taking this route, would be to collect any SF silver/gold/diamonds that I could find. Especially ones that are not currently in missions, because those are going to be the cards that will be added to missions next (so you can get them cheaper right now before everyone is dashing after them). This step requires a little guesswork but honestly there aren’t that many extra cards to worry about so I’m willing to bet most every card that is a Giants player will be eventually involved in a mission. I am confident that collecting the cards this way will be cheaper than waiting for them to come out and trying to collect them. And I suspect the end cost of getting Willie Mays will be cheaper this way also. Plus it gives you something to do while you’re waiting! I am doing something similar in that I am pretty sure someday there will be a Walter Johnson reward for a senators mission. So I’m collecting all of the senators cards I can so that when the mission comes out all I’ll have to do is turn it in! I only hope the card isn’t terrible! |

My logo always sorts itself out if I just leave it and come back later. I tried clearing the cache, but the 10 logos that were missing at that point are still missing... Maybe those 10 just haven't logged in yet?
