Perhaps this question has been answered somewhere in this thread. If so, apologies, as I didn't see it. At any rate...
As this is a work in progress, what is the process - for both Steam and non-stead users - to incorporate your ongoing/future changes as they are made? Thanks in advance. |

As you download each new update and unpack it, copy the files into your Facegen folder. The newer files will overwrite the older ones.
All fg files that are posted piecemeal in this thread since the last update will be included in the next update. They are being included here as a service for the people who requested them and anyone else interested, but don't feel like you have to hunt through this thread as all the Facegens will end up in the next version of the pack

My question is what if I have a player by name and also by ID number. Which one will the game pick and can I have the game pick by name instead of by ID number? Especially if the player name .fg is different than the ID number .fg.

Baseball Reference Minors ID BBRef Majors ID FirstName_LastName This is done because of the sheer robustness of the BBRef Minors ID system, which contains nearly everybody who has played professional baseball and gives them a distinct ID. FirstName_LastName has huge limitations, namely, that different people throughout baseball history have had the same name. The hierarchy is hard-coded into the game, I do not believe it is customisable. My suggestion would be that if you have a Facegen that you like to use, rename it to the BBRef minors id format (a player's BBRef ID (majors and minors) can be found on their edit screen). If you are worried about them being overwritten with each update of the pack, then what you can do is keep a master copy of your preferred Facegens in a separate folder (say, in your documents folder or on your desktop) and copy/replace those over *after* you upgrade the Facegen pack each time

Skip Schumaker's name is Jared Michael Schumaker. He is in the pack as schuma001jar.fg

looks like Jumbo Elliott doesn't have a fg yet (unless I'm missing it, but didn't see anything for that name, James Thomas Elliott, or ellioju01)

![]() Also as a quick note about perfect team, anyone with a 2 or 3 letter long last name will not have a facegen due to a database error that has since been fixed but was present when player IDs were pulled for card data. Outside of that, I did notice one or two negro league players that weren't loading a facegen despite there being one in the pack with the proper ID. One of my favorite parts about playing in the dead ball era is that some of these guys really do look long dead. Or maybe undead is a better word.... I still love the work that goes into them, regardless.

That is where changing the picture to Sepia or Black and white comes in handy

That was my original plan, but someone put a lot of work into historical uniforms, and I didn't want to waste the color that was on them. In black & white they all kind of look the same.

I haven't gotten much of anything done facegen-wise in the last week or so. Before that break, I was working the 2021 draft class; I want to get through the higher potential players there as quickly as I can (I'm in the F's for the 2 star prospects). |

I found quite a few deadball guys with dead-ish/scary faces, though if you're generally aware then I won't post them

I've seen a lot of them. Some of them are definitely a bit creepy, but it's one way I can tell whether it's the right face of some game-assigned face. Unfortunately, with the dead ball era guys, the game has a hard correctly assigning the pictures, so I've had to pick a lot of them manually. I'm worried what's going to happen between seasons when they automatically update. I hope that my face assignments don't thrown out and overwritten.

I've made a face gen for Gerry Janeski that was missing from the pack. It's for my 1971 replay and Janeski is with the Senators. Not sure what the correct way of submitting a FG is or, for that matter, if this one is up to snuff.
I'll post it and feel free to comment, take it down, or add it to the pack. Whatever works ![]() Here is the baseball card I used to make the FG. The in-game OOTP card I created to show, and the actual FG file. |

It may just be me, but my versions of Ken Griffey Jr and Hank Aaron look nothing like they do in real life.
Am I missing something? |

Most likely the jr in Griffey and I think you'll find Aaron is under Henry in FG.
