LOL, we all have our challenges. Six weeks so far and I've pulled ONE live Diamond card...

The march continues...

I am currently sitting on 11 Live Diamonds (and I have no clue how many duplicate ones I have quick sold.

I currently only have 5 OL Diamonds, and 2 OL Perfects.

Care to trade pulls for a while? lol

Edit: By the way... I should know this but two questions surfaced tonight watching Twitch... (1) Are PREVIOUS season cards of live players legal in OL (like Verlander 2016), and (2) what about the new "historical" Player of the month cards?

Historical versions of live players are allowed. As are the historical POTM's. It's the live series POTM's that aren't allowed as well as Future Legends. Anything 2021 is a no-zone.

Thanks. I've been overly cautious after my first mistake. Good to ask before I did anything.

Best Pack Pull

When I completed a team 15 collection, this was my gold pack pull.... probably the best pack pull I can remember since OOTPXX!

My higher level historical drop rates have been really bad so far, and have gotten worse in the last 2-3 weeks. Diamonds are the worst. I've pulled 8 historical diamonds, which is about 20 less than I 'should' have, and I've even pulled less lives than I should have, too. I keep hoping things will start to even out, but I continue to fall further behind the stated odds. And that's why I'm finding the 7500 limit so insulting - the game has no problem applying a hard number to that .

I didn't intend to track anything in PT22, but this crazy diamond thing has been grabbing my attention since week 2. Diamonds are too important to pack-only collecting for me not to notice!!

I don't expect all Pop Lloyds - any ol' diamonds will do .

I'd probably cry if I pulled that pack right now (not with joy) .

Atom Smashers Break Through in OL B248

Annandale ripped a 9-4 month off the schedule to take the top spot in an OL race that is still compact and wide.

Work has seen me taking most of the week off from PT due to time constraints. Coney Island picked up Jose Cruz this morning to take over left field. While the teams record isn't impressive I look to their record in one run games (11-23) to think that maybe with a timely hit here or there and they be a little closer to respectable. They picked up Traynor and Ripper Collins to start the season. Traynor has been good and it looks like Collins started slow and has been getting hot as the season progressed. Acquiring those three fell within points I earned off proceeds of last weekends packs and I didn't have to dip into my banked points. With not playing this week I wont have to worry about pack luck as I havent entered anything. Since I don't have the time or desire to do missions and want to stay away from special edition cards- unless its a player I have a connection with the Warriors are playing the long game.

Sugar Hill added the diamond Ron Guidry. Again, slim pickings for the theme and Guidry is a guy who I loved growing up as we had a partial season ticket in 1978 and was at the game when he struck out 18 Angels (It's what started the clapping when a pitcher got two strikes on a batter). Call me a homer but the PT version that had featured 1978 short changed him-I think it was a 94, should have been a 99.

If both teams avoid relegation I will call the week a win. Thankfully James Dolan isn't my owner.....

Silver league:

Cary takes a 2 game set from Cedar Rapids to break up the .500 triumvirate in OL standings. Overall, despite playing .660 ball (3rd best in the entire league), Cary site 16.5 games back of their division lead (but a solid 11.5 games in hand for the top WC spot). Cedar Rapids have hit a rough skid, dropping 5 straight to fall 4 games off the division lead; but they have moved into the top WC spot in the AC by a half game. A 4 game win streak for Waffletown combined with a 3 game skid by their closest division competition has padded the Syrups lead to 8.5 games

Waffletown continues to search for reliable bullpen help. The Dave Giusti experiment has ended (with Giusti's 10.38 ERA and .450 BABIP in 6 appearances). He will be replaced by:

83 - Mike Maddux (1995)

Iron Update

A big day for Algoma today, including the 3-game series with Boulder City.

Many trying to get promoted. Only Hartford in danger of relegation.

[Programming note: if someone else would like to post standings tomorrow and Sunday, feel free. I will be mostly out-of-pocket the next 2 days. If standings are not already posted by the time I'm able to get on, I'll gladly do it. But it might be very late.]

I would have agreed with you about Dolan until more facts came to light about the entire situation behind the dismissal of JD and Jeff Gorton. Much as I hate to see them go, there are plenty of indications that say they balked at the statement that it now seems came straight from Dolan, condemning the NHL's actions in the Wilson fiasco. He paid a quarter of a million bucks to get that out there and they should have supported it, or at least remained silent. Also, as reluctant as I am to agree with him, Dolan got that one right. I really like what Gorton has built (though I wouldn't have re-signed Kreider) but, he and JD misread the tea leaves here. I just hope Drury turns out to be as good as he was predicted to be, and doesn't go too far to get "grit," which is fairly easy to add on the cheap in the NHL. If they get a tough guy, I hope they get a Wendel Clark type, who can get you 20-25 goals as well as toughness. Kind of nice to have a life-long Ranger fan in charge, though, isn't it?

Back to OL, Port Ruppert is again going through its summer slump. I now wish I would have kept track of the stats to see just at how profoundly bad they have played in June, July, and sometimes August.

I appreciate the standings work. Thanks. I will try to update tomorrow but also have a lot of other stuff so it may not happen. I should be able to do something early Sunday though.

Nothing to do with OOTP, but you are the 2nd person I have heard use "out-of-pocket" to mean "unavailable". Just caught my eye.

Arrow Any Luck With Silver Packs?

Last night Kris (SnaggleJ) introduced Silver Packs now being an option for PT22.

Has anyone opened any so far and if so, are you getting anything good that would justify spending an extra 1,000 PP over a Standard Pack?

Thanks

Non-OL I think JD and Gorton needed one more year before they could be judged. They cleared a lot of cap issues and accumulated many assets that can turned into the missing jam the teams sorely needs. Neither is a slouch if you look at JD and the types of players he brought to both St. Louis and Columbus and Gorton built the cup winning Bruins. They were just getting to point where they could shape the roster. Drury was given a nice head start and has a good chance to get the pat on the back meant for the other two-if he doesnt screw it up.
