Fictional with MLB draft

Hey,

A bit of a newbie here. Loving OOTP 22 but have some questions with something I am wanting to do.

1. I want to do a fictional league, but I am wanting to do it with MLB players with a draft to place them on teams. Is this possible? If so, how?

2. If the above can't be done in a fictional league...can it be done via a normal MLB league? Basically a roster reset with a draft between all the teams.

Thanks for the help in advance.

couple options....

- start a historical replay (pick a year that has the number of teams you are looking for overall if your fictional league setup fits - like 1901 for two-8 team leagues. You can always go into the 'teams' setup and change the team names to something else).... on the first page of the league setup, check off the 'use random players from all eras instead of real rosters' (you can set a min/max year if you want, but I prefer to leave it with no min/max)... downside here is you will see a good number of long-toothed rookies in that first draft class (30 years old+) so you might end up with your favorite historical player in the first draft class at age 38 and he only gets a couple seasons of play before he retires...

or

-do a custom fictional league... setup the league/division layout with team names/etc.... go to the advanced settings so you can navigate to the 'options' tab and scroll down just before the 'award names' section... there is a check box for 'use random rookies from all eras'.... the downside with this approach is (at least the last time I tried it in prior versions), is your first draft class will be fictional players.... the historic players won't show up until the next draft class and each subsequent draft after that, so you will have an initial class of fictional names in the game
