this did not age well, considering he got banned not long after, haha. I did not understand his petulant ranting about no features list on the day of the announcement. While I don't particularly that trend among game developers, it's not worth getting banned over.

First can we clean up this thread and remove the bitching and complaining? We get it some don’t want to preorder with new features announced, we go through this almost every year.
No one is forcing you to preorder so shut up about it already.

This is not the first time the game has been announced and no features till a week or so after.

Enough of the bitching

My reason for going Steam is I plan on retiring in May and will finally have the time to run a historical game along side my on going game I import from version to version. The ease of modding the game for historical play through Steam tips the scales in it's favor. I will miss the three day head start I get building my multitude of views and filters with the direct buy version I'll get by knowing once I have my Steam version I will have unlimited play time

One thing I took from the screenshot is a preview of how the stadiums are being updated with better models. It's a small thing but check out the infield dirt and you'll get a small look at what's to come.

Like every year I can't wait to get my hands on the newest "best baseball game every made". Easiest game buying decision I make every year.
I've been seriously debating migrating over to Steam myself the past couple of years or so. With the exception of Gary Grigsby's War in The Pacific (Which I've barely touched the past two years), OOTP is the last non-Steam game I have installed on my PC. It took me a few years to fully embrace Steam, but I now find being able to access all of my games from one central location to be invaluable.

That said, the prospect missing out on the customary three-day early access period as a reward for pre-ordering is what continues to prevent me from migrating. Yeah, I know it's only three days, but I know the way I am. I'm a big baby. Those three days would be excruciating. All I'd be able to think about that first weekend playing the final version would be all the time I missed being able to setup my leagues in advance for 22.

Don't want to buy the cat in the bag? Then don't buy the cat in the bag. It's not like you're going to miss out on anything special between now and the reveal. Sitting tight and waiting for the feature reveal sure beats filling a couple o' pages with passive-aggressive "some people..." rhetoric.
Passive-aggressive is the cool way to be.

I’m in the same boat as you. But I’m currently been trying to activate an old version of ootp 15 and it’s been hell. If it was a steam version, I wouldn’t have the issue

I'm a little confused by something. What's the big deal about OOTP going 64-bit? The advantages?

Well, main one is the game will have more access to physical memory. Right now it can only run a max of 4GB. With 64 bit will will be able to access way more.

This is the biggest factor in my buying from Steam.
Five years from now when the game is all PT focused I don’t want issues reinstalling older versions of the game. With Steam there is no issues.

I just pre-order it because I have faith in OOTP. Just want to get my money to the developers of this sim. They have a wonderful product. Helped me do something fun while waiting for this pandemic to become more under control.
For $40...it can't be beat !

Getting excited.
I do have a couple steam questions and OOTP.
Currently have 21 on a windows systems. I have imported real player pictures and have created a couple of my on schedules on it. If I get a standalone game it would be easy to transfer them to the new game. If I go with steam, can I move the pictures and homemade schedules over to my steam game?
If I later get a mac system, will my steam game run with my homemade schedule and the players pictures that I had with my windows system.
Since there is no Thanks button, thanks in advance.

Well, if you actually looked at his post history for the past few months, you would see that this thread is not a 1 time deal. in Inventory of 3D Ballparks by Silvam14 and Adion when Adion said he was leaving the community because of his disagreement due to the banning of the removal and banning teams with the name trump in them, this dude went in and told Adion that he didn't need to announce his departure and other crap and when people stood up for Adion, wrath attacked them there as well by calling them colorful names. Before that thread I don't think he had any infractions.

So, no he didn't get banned because what he said here, it for sure didn't help, but his thread post was nothing but cynical posts and if he didn't like your opinion, and especially if your opinion was about him, he would attack you. That's the main reason.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, let's just forget about him and be excited to see what's going to be in this new version of the game.

Yes to all in regards to Windows. No idea for a Mac.
I own 21 for both steam and standalone
