You will still see the PT information on the right hand side of the page, but it will not give you the login prompt. If you want to step away for a time and not have the temptation, that's always an option for you.

edit: Although I suppose Bunk and Bailey know they can remove the startup parameters therefore the ultimate temptation has not at all be thwarted.

You're right. Just to be extra safe, I should remote into his machine and syskey it, but only after funneling all his money to my bank. We can't leave the temptations of a usable PC or money around when the haunting specter of PT looms large.

I do get gambling addition and stuff so we're good. It's just that this isn't gambling, you win zero money. There are many addictions which are mental so I think we do actually agree. Food, sex, any number of things the human mind gets fixated on. Removing a PT login seem odd to me, that's all. In addition, Matt explained how to do it so you don't see it.

Actually, I only put the gambling and shopping together in this thread, never really burned a lot of brain cells thinking about it until now. Yeah, you can't make a 'profit' i.e. no gambling in the sense. But how many think, oh another 175k PP and I can move up? Oh, close, another 175k?

Just to be straight, there is nothing the OOTP team can do about this. They have no influence over their customer base. They have to do their thing.

But when a request like this comes in (viewing OP), I have a good feel for where it is coming from. No, I don't think the software/system should be changed, and if they did, it wouldn't help the problem other than in a very few individual cases.

But this should not be pooh-poohed.

I agree that the subject should be taken seriously.

I mention gambling vs. shopping because there are legal restrictions associated with gambling. As far as I know, there are no legal restrictions associated with shopping. Perhaps there should be.

Yea, since my wife has access to my Amazon account I changed the default payment to her card. She's gonna max that damn thing.

I am also a poster boy for PT addiction I do admit, although if I quit I don't need anyone to hide the damn login.

Looking at the sale, I am tempted to drop another $70 although it would be for packs. Not saving up for half million dollar cards.
