Possibly Spitball-ish Question about Player Heights & Weights
I have kind of a random question that I'm wondering if anyone here can help on. I know I almost never post, but I have been buying/using OOTP for 15+ years and it's something I don't think I've come across.
Is there any way to edit average player heights & weights over time? Just for the hell of it I decided to run a fictional league that starts in 1876-77 like the National League did, but I'm noticing a lot of oddities in player physiques that basically give them balloon-shaped heads in their FaceGen Pictures. It's as if the game wants to give the players heights consistent with how tall players would have been in the 1800's and early 1900's - almost nobody is taller than 6' and I'm seeing quite a few 5'3" and 5'4" players - but weights remain their modern equivalent. This means there are quite a few players who might be 5'7" or 5'8" but weigh 200+ pounds, and their FaceGen pictures reflect this. I'm very familiar with the game's XML files and am comfortable editing them with something simple like Notepad++, but in all my searching I don't think I've come across an easy way to scale player height/weight. Is there any way to do this? Thanks... |

Not sure of the answer, but this is a great idea to suggest as a new feature for fictionals...the average height and weight in most of the world has increased significantly in the 20th century, and at least during the lockdowns, the weight gains continue unabated!

I can confirm that fictional leagues from the 19th century do indeed have smaller players than today.

So there should be a theoretical sweet spot where you maximize the years you can get versus accurate heights. Might take trial and error though.
Unless player creation modifiers aren't updating each year but I'm assuming that they are.
