Malwarebytes thinks ootp.exe is malware

This just happened this morning. My guess is the Malwarebytes database was updated and reported it. It quarantined the file and now I can't load the game without restoring the suspicious file.

Just wondering if anyone else has had it happen to them?

Make an exclusion (exception for other programs) so your antivirus program will not flag the file as suspicious.

Thanks. I know how to Restore the file and allow an exclusion with Malwarebytes. I'm just very cautious and like to know it's for certain a false positive before taking action. They're very rare with Malwarebytes. I also like to alert the software developers so they can deal directly with Malwarebytes to get it corrected.

strange, i have malwares as well, never gotten any warnings on it ... but i am using the Steam version.

Malwarebytes has issues with OOTP but not other Steam games? That's... curious.

I assume Malwarebytes corrected the database. I didn't Restore the file from quarantine but I'm now able to run the game without any issue. I assume Steam added the .exe file back in.

Case closed. :-)
