So I added the SE Jackie and since then we're 1-5 and he has the second worst OPS on my team.

Did win a SE Delgado by losing in the finals of the weekly cap last night. In 3 games he's hit 2 home runs.

Also won the daily medium cap yesterday, and the daily historical cap, AND the TWIPT giveaway, so that with a little help from the PP sale is what got me Jackie. It was a good day, to say the least.

Also added Stearns and Dihigo. Dropped SE Cano, Harrah, 99 Mays, and live Trout for those guys. Much better hitting against righties. Slightly worse against lefties. Better defensively in my starting lineup but worse in my backups.

Did just notice I had my leftie lineup playing out of position though, with Gehringer at 3rd for some reason. Fixed that.

On reflection I'm gonna drop a reliever and bring Harrah back up to platoon with Gehringer and then drop Dihigo to bring Mays back to platoon with Yaz. Gehringer will have to learn SS and 3B but otherwise that seems like the best option now. Can't do that for another few hours though.

Well, it's Saturday....

Longview Woodchucks are 75-58, 1 game out of the division lead, holding on to the second wildcard spot...strong pitching and defense offsetting not so great batting...

Nacogdoches Jacks are 72-61, 4 games out of the division lead and barely holding the second wildcard spot. Strong bullpen and defense like the Woodchucks offsetting lousy batting. Hal McRae leading batters at just .268.

Stephanie's Neffin-neffs are 67-66, 8 games out of the second wildcard spot and no chance of taking the division title (24 games out)....batting is like the other teams, and pitching isn't entirely bad, but not good enough to offset the silence of the bats.

Off to work...hopefully things might go up from here.

The Raccoons were dead in the water by Tuesday, but the Mets were nine games up in late August.

Well, already down to 5 1/2 and still melting......

Lead is down to two games with 10 to play. I know exactly what's coming.

Las Vegas White Tigers in D.359 finish at 102-60, the second best record in the league, and will play the Rivercats in the first round. Notably, all 6 playoff teams in the AC won at least 97 games, while only one team in the NC did so. We got off to a very good start, and were in the mix for the 1 seed, but a post-all-star slump put us on the back foot and we found ourselves several games back of the Rivercats after going 16-22 from July 30th through September 11th. We followed that up with a 12 game winning streak and finished 18-2 in our last 20 games. We led the conference by a full half point in starter ERA. Guidry, Verlander and Paige had very good season seasons, going 16-8, 16-7, and 20-4 with ERAs of 3.43, 2.72 and 3.51, respectively, and all with WAR of at least 4.7. Maddux and Gibson were just fine as well, with ERAs of just about 4. After a very slow start, SE Robinson finished with the second best OPS on the team at .885 in 55 games and hit .367 in September, though Delgado cooled off after a fast start and finished with an OPS of .796 in 38 games, while Stearns was disappointing with an OPS of just .551 in 41 games; a mixed bag for my late-season additions. Sisler had his worst season in 9 with the team, and Yaz was a bit off his game as well.

Black Knights in G.306 finished at 83-79, tied for third 2 games back in the wild card race, though only 4th in their division.

Sun Kings were also in G.306, over in the other conference, only finishing 3 games better at 86-76, but in their case that was good enough to win the division by 3 games, and they will be the 3 seed. The team led the conference in home runs, with Bagwell tied for second and also tied for first in RBIs. Deacon Phillippe had an excellent season, going 18-10 with a 3.29 ERA.

Over in PT20, the White Tigers in Perfect missed the playoffs for only the second time in the last 22 seasons, and like the Black Knights in PT21 went 83-79 and were fourth in the division. The Golden Lions in Diamond also missed the playoffs at 79-83, and the Black Panthers in their first season back in Diamond after relegation last week made the playoffs for the first time in 11 seasons, going 97-65 and getting the 1 seed in the NC of D.383. Bob Gibson will almost certainly win the Cy Young, leading the conference in ERA at 2.32 (runner up was 2.93), wins at 22 (runner up was 18) and WAR at 8.1. He was a mere 8 strikeouts away from a pitching triple crown. The team led the conference in average, OBP, starter ERA, and runs allowed.

The Black Panthers in PT20 will be going for their third championship, and my 5th overall in PT20. Both the White Tigers and Sun Kings in PT21 will be going for their first, and my first in PT21.

Raccoons managed to get relegated with an 11-game losing streak right near the end of the season.

(deep breath)

I have major interest in leading them into the forest, nailing them with their front paws to some tree stump, and then just leaving them there.

The Mets? From nine games up to five-and-change, then to two, and while I slept, what?

They finished their season 6-10 in their last 16 games... and were only salvaged by their lone chaser, Cleveland, doing no better than 7-9, and the fact that the teams didn't play each other anymore. So the Mets came out 89-73 and are in the LDS as the #2 seed, and the #5 team by record. Losing in the LDS and any wild card team advancing will keep us in Bronze. FOREVER. Oh, and the team we're facing in the LDS? Merely a team that swept them in a 4-game set in September.

Not really worth it to set the rotation to four guys, only for having to reset it to five at 9pm...

And Ralph Kiner? Batted a modest .217 .........

Longview Woodchucks finish 92-70, NC East champions, but great pitching and a phenomenal bullpen may not save a poor, but balanced (11 players with 10 or more HRs) batting set. If we advance, it will be by divine hand.

Nacogdoches Jacks end the season 87-75, three games out of the wildcard...now what...thoughts later.

Stephanie's Neffin-neffs close out 80-82, nowhere near the playoffs. Lots of questions.

Will evaluate later and make a few decisions. The competition has gotten better. The turn around,...sigh...will have to wait.

To the Bronze Series! Rallying for three in the top 9th to squeeze out an 8-7 win in Game 7 against the 111-win opposition just in time, the Mets will stare down the Kobe Beef for the Bronze Pot!

As usual, the 2 seed White Tigers choked in the first round and lost the divisional 3-2. The Sun Kings swept in the divisional before losing the sub-league series 4-2. The 1 seed Black Panthers choked and got swept by the wild card.

6-1, 2-1, 4-2, 2-1. Mets got swept out of the Bronze Series.

So we should have brought the bats along after all.

Sigh.

After 9 empty trips to the Diamond's playoffs, 10th time is the charm for the Oilers: we are going to Perfect (and probably gonna be slaughtered in the process )

No playoffs for any of my teams, so a day of selling and rebuilding rosters

Paragon City Heroes stayed in Diamond blew their PP on a couple of pitchers, mainly Matt Kilroy. Juan Marichal won reliever of the year, appearing in 69 games, 104 Ip and a 1.00 WHIP .243 BABIP

San Angeles 70s Stayed in Gold, just 2 wins above the relegation zone. no one did anything spectacular (in fact almost everyone performed worse than their average season in gold)

Lowdown Lugnuts had a full team change midseason after i realized i could sell all of the deadball guys i had at huge profit. So we've moved to a non them team featuring SE Mickey Mantle, SE George Sisler and SE David Justice. and for pitching we've gone for a heavier strike out staff with 112-117 stuff among the five starters

21st Century Fusion just didn't work as a live/21st century player team, the pitching for the most part was dreadful and ended up getting us relegated so most players have been culled

Mount Hawke were solid all season, until finishing 1-12 and ending up just 4 games above relegation. Still no really decent pack pulls with this team.

KB managed their 4th playoff trip in silver without promotion, which is a bonus. They've gone 3-4 weeks without an upgrade from their packs, which is becoming a bit tiresome.

The Grackles managed to scrape into the playoffs after a very up and down season. Squeaked past Daves' Seawolves in the WC after going 1-6 against them in the league, but ended up losing in 6 in the SLS. Quite happy with that as a week in Perfect would have been BAD .

Got to say though, one of my observations from the game so far is it loves promoting underdogs to Perfect, especially if they have 68 Ozzie as their everyday SS! It's great that the underdog has a fighting chance, but I'm seeing a lot of the best teams being left in Diamond week after week. I think there could be a special case for making DL playoffs less unpredictable and more focused on promoting one of the best teams.

The Chickaluma Cluckers enjoyed their best season in Gold so far, but still managed only an 82-80 record, meaning they'll remain in Gold for the third season in a row (and fourth in five years). No additions to the roster were made this season.

The Trollskull Alley Irregulars started 2033 off slow in Gold, but the addition of Bellinger POTM (99), who replaced Live Bellinger, gave the team enough of a boost to go 87-75 and earn a wild card. The team took an early exit in the wild card round. The highlight of the year was 3B Robinson Cano winning MVP. The team did not get promoted to Diamond and will remain in Gold for the fifth season in a row.

Los Plagas Perros had been relegated to Silver for 2033, a dramatic fall after reaching Diamond two years earlier. As expected, they tore up the Silver league, finishing with a 106-56 record, but had a quick exit in the first round of the playoffs. Armando Benitez won reliever of the year with a dominant statline: 44 saves, 1.79 ERA, and 0.90 WHIP. They'll return to Gold for 2034. No additions to the roster were made this season.

All 3 teams are FTP, so PP revenue is coming primarily from tournament winnings and auction house activity. However, the earned PP has focused on improving tournament rosters instead of the regular season teams with the hope of generating more packs/PP and winning some weekly mission cards. That, combined with some tough luck with packs (2 historical diamonds in 450+ packs over the past 4 weeks), has led to stagnation with the regular season rosters. Hopefully, the improved silver and gold tournament teams will eventually provide dividends.
