kq76 was explaining something else, I think.

No, I think we're describing the same thing. I just would have described it differently. LeMandria may have said it best here though.

The only difference is I was saying you could do it even before a single game is played, but I think Torg's way of doing it after the tourney has completed is probably better as, I'm not sure, but teams may have to set their rosters before those players can be picked up from the search. Or maybe not. I was just being impatient with my way.

After the tourney you can get actual stats. Which is how I built my iron team.

Spreadsheet – PT21 Card Ratings
FINAL RELEASE

v2.5 6-8-2020
Links: Hitting Ratings MASTER v2.5 Pitching Ratings MASTER v2.5

All right, for those of you who’ve never used Player Search extensively, there is a known feature where leagues exceeding a certain size (4096 players) force the report to paginate. Instead of getting one report, you get 102 pages of individual reports…one…page…at…a…time.

The average league is 30 teams. 30 teams x 200 active roster is? Yep, 6000. An average league will break Player Search’s functionality as a report. I’m currently playing in six leagues, and FOUR of them are ‘broken,’ for example.

It used to be, perhaps, that a 200 man roster was more rare than it is today. Collections force nearly everyone to cap out their teams with a large list of locked players, particularly when Live collections are de facto required to compete.

Whatever the reason, that pagination is enormously unfriendly to a big data approach.

I saw this coming, the eventual end of this project. When the Live players go Live (MLB starts playing games again), updating this sheet on a weekly basis will become impossible. So, I’m calling it quits unless or until that pagination limit gets raised far enough for Player Search to be usable at a typical league level.

If that’s even possible, maybe it isn’t. Maybe OOTPD is so choked for throughput with their current ISP that they don’t want big data approaches to their game. More than possible.

Yeah, I had the same problem last night with one of my leagues. At first I thought my game was glitching out then I came across that it's a known issue. I asked if they could make the setting configurable in the app.cfg file in the future.

What maybe we can do in the future is post records of data that we've entered by hand and then when we add it to your data we can just add a column that it was from another source.

Thanks again for all your work!

A spreadsheet with all ratings was provided at the beginning of OOTP 20.

Seems like the link to Pitching Ratings is broken.

Edit: Although it's easy to get to from the previous link:

https://facethecurtain.wordpress.com/spreadsheet/

Thanks for all of the work!

v3.1

There really will be some 'live' cards, just any day now (we hope).

LOL, whenever I finally get around to updating my sheet with adding your data you seem to update the very next day! Thanks!

This last time I noticed a number of your title column data were wrong, like everything would point to another player except the title column. Not all of them of course, just the odd one.
