And yes, absolutely with pattern recognition too. In fact, my problem with OOTP’s scouting system is that there are basically no false positives with established players, and so therefore if you see a 10 year vet’s Power drop, you can be pretty much 100% positive that was a real drop, when in fact there should still be false positives even for vets. What’s more, you never, ever see a false negative (an actual Power drop that’s not noticed by your scout). A scout using proper Bayesian analysis should categorically not watch a guy he knows like a book, see slower bat speed or whatever, and immediately conclude that his power just dipped 5 “points”. Your scouts really ought to *trail* the statistics, not anticipate them.

Of course they use the clock. Ergo - not random. Again, ontological. You (and Rch apparently, which disappoints me) are confusing 'random' with 'unique'. The clock + algo can only generate a UNIQUE number (unless the clock gets reset of course, so even that is tenuous, but for our purposes it's close enough). Unique is not synonymous with random. Two very different things.

If you scroll upwards, you will notice that I said that computers can’t create random numbers. Please stop making up positions I don’t hold.

I see. The old - 'I will take both sides of the argument, distort the one I am against and therefore ensure victory' - ploy.

Describe the ontology. You can't.

Purely rational requires procedure and random can never come from procedure.

There, I stated it nice and simple in one sentence. Ignore away.

Well c'mon, we know he hasn't actually read that page he linked to. Nobody reads wiki, they just link to it.

We are fine here. Online teaching for my son was different, but he continued to do well. We are all healthy so that is good! Thanks!

Yes, Online teaching for this long has to suck. I am very happy he is doing well with it. I was thinking back on the forum Shaun Sullivan was such a great guy. He was another programmer who really cared about his product and customers. In fact he got so down he just gave up and gave his game away. That forum was special. We were all very close there. Good to see you here my friend.😁

I think I spent most of that series yelling "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!" at my screen. You know it's bad when the manager comes out for a mound visit, ignores the pitcher, and spends it chewing out the catcher!

That doesn’t mean MLB is fixed, it means the Mariners had an awful week right when they needed to be at their best.

If anything the biggest complaint I see is the exact opposite: that GM mode is too easy to win and even big market teams just don’t present that much of a challenge.

My point is that its not a game of percentages, if it were your following statement of "sometimes" would be accurate. The percentages are skewed, in my opinion towards big market teams. I mean where are the people that buy this game? More would most likely be in bigger markets simply because there are more fans. So make money by making those fans happy. I have played multiple smaller market teams with superior lineups and they still struggle to win, and have played bigger market teams with lineups that are not as good and they had no trouble winning. Just for the hell of it I simmed out 2 more seasons with similar results one a big market team and one small. Simply put I think the devs have decided money matters more than accuracy. And that's their prerogative, but you've lost me as a consumer after this iteration of the game. Which again I am sure doesn't matter much to the devs.

I’m certain that the devs don’t care about ridiculousness like this post, I agree. There are plenty of dynasties on this board that you can look at if you really think the game itself is somehow cooking results in favor of large market teams.

There's no inherrent bonus to small or large market teams, other than our completely accurate code which causes players on Mets franchises to blow out their arms at rates much higher than league average.
