I heard that guy was actually part of Microsoft's dev team for the next High Heat game, working on good samples for the heckler voices (which has always been a high point for the series).

So when you buy a ticket to a MLB game, does it say that you are not allowed to heckle to the point where others might be offended? If not, I'd side with the heckler. Yes, I know what he did was morally wrong, but do or should stadium officials have the right to do that to him? I don't think so. Where does it stop?

In 20 years will sports stadiums be like libraries that you can only whisper? Will all fans have to sit on their hands during the game? I like that opposing players have to play through the "noise" of the home fans. I don't want to see the experience of the game become something like some little girl's tea party with her dolls.

Was the collision awful to watch? Sure it was. Is the heckler an ass for heckling Jackson afterwards? Sure he was. Should he be kicked out for it? I don't think so.

I'm not positive, but I'd guess on the ticket (and probably posted around the park) it says that the team reserves the right to remove any fans engaging in activities which are deemed disruptive. That pretty much covers it.

The guy wasn't forceably removed until he started pushing away the security gaurd. At that point, he was being disruptive, so he deserved to get dragged out of there.

You're probably right that there are those signs or what not, but I don't think they should be there. What exactly is disruptive? Can a fan of the opposing team be deemed disruptive for doing things fans of the home team are doing? Probably. It's too open to interpretation imo. Is it fair or right? Not imo.

Oh come on, don't tell me that if they sent out the guard that they weren't going to kick him out. I'm sure it was a foregone conclusion.
I think that if a fan is endangering others, then he needs to be ejected. There might be other reasons I'd agree with, but I think they need to be laid out and determined under the consideration that these are the fans. Without them, the game would not happen, all the people who make money off baseball would not. Sure, some guidelines need to be there, but I think stadium ejections go too far. I'm mainly thinking of fan interference here (I think fans should be allowed to grab balls hit to the OF walls and things like that), but it applies to any reason for fan ejections.

I think as a business teams can decide for themselves what kind of entertainment experiences they'd like the fans to enjoy. Heckling changes the atmosphere for all those sitting around the hecklers. It might encourage some fans to attend more games, and it might do the opposite.

Maybe the best idea is to have heckling areas, and ban it elsewhere. Something like the left side of the stadium can heckle, but not the right side.

You know, I think that's a great idea! Personally, I really enjoy the atmosphere that rowdy fans bring to the event, but I'm sure there's some people that would much prefer not to have that at all.

The whole recall is a big joke, at least it's finally over though.

Count me in that group. I still remember my trip to Tiger Stadium. We sat in the RF upper deck that hangs over the field. Unfortunately, a good deal of the enjoyment was cut out by a dumbass father-son combo who were taunting Matt Lawton the entire game. The son actually at least tried, and failed, to be witty but the father just repeated, for the ENTIRE GAME, "Lawton!...hey Lawton!...Lawton!" Maybe that's entertaining for some, it obviously was for those two, but I think I would be among the majority of people who thought it was annoying and took away from the atmosphere. A club has every right to remove anyone they want from the stadium and if fans are out of hand like the fan in Oakland last night, I say good riddance.

For most cases, it's fun to have a good heckler 20~50 feet away from you. Those right behind you are the most annoying ones.
