Bronze league update:

A late push by Asheboro falls just one win short, as Stephensville holds on for the OL crown.

in the overall picture... Stephensville claimed home field advantage throughout the post season with a league best 100-62 record. Kansas nabbed a wild card spot in the AC. In the NC, O'Fallon finished in a tie for the 2nd wild card spot and went to game 163 to determine who would go to the post season and who would go home. O'Fallon pitcher Brandon Webb pitched a gem of a game, going 8.2 innings and the offense did their part to secure a 9-0 victory over Brooklyn.

Saddle Up Boys! Green Lake Cowboys Rustle Up Diamond OL Crown

The Green Lake Cowboys continued their excellent play through the month of September and cruised to the Diamond OL title. Congratulations to the Cowboys!

Non OL Playoffs News

Pablo plays at 3-10-2 in the AC wildcard game. The winner faces Roncali
Topeka occupies another AC playoff spot. They should thank Annandale for home field advantage, since the Atom Smashers swept their opponent in a 4 game series late in the season.
In the NC, Transylvania faces Green Lake in one bracket.

So we'll have two definite promotions to Perfect, and possibly a third.

No team is being relegated from Diamond.

Perfect league update:

Southern finishes with an impressive 90-40 OL record to claim their 5th Perfect league crown.

in the overall picture... 6 OL teams make the post season (Cigar City and California in the AC; Virginia, Southern, Aina Haina and Victoria in the NC).

four OL relegations to Diamond:

-Shasta
-Port Rupert
-Harlem
-Boogie

In checking through the universe screen, the Arkham Horrors won the AC East, the Washington Base Stealers earned a wild card berth (they won!), and the Daytona Beach Pickleballers got an NC wild card spot (no result yet). No team will be relegated.

These are the only OL stats missing, since there's no OL iron this season.

Kansas and O'Fallon both go down in the wild card game (O'Fallon went 15 innings before coughing up the winning run); so only Stephensville remains for OL in the post season.

I noticed a non-OL team named for the legendary minor league team, the Memphis Chicks, and it got me thinking. Attached is the result. Note that Leonard Marx' screen name was pronounced Chik-o, but over the years people tended to use the pronunciation for the Spanish word for boy due to the spelling. Us old timers always knew better.

Huge props to Cigar City for knocking out Edster's paid team in a sweep. With Victoria's win over Memphis, that leaves only one non-OL team left in the playoffs: allenciox's Caspers, defending their WS title from last season. Even there, the Condors battled back from a 2-0 series deficit to draw it to a decisive game 5. This probably favors the Caspers, but anything can happen in a game.

Two promotions from Diamond to Perfect: Topeka and the winner of the Transylvania/Green Lake series. 3-10-2 is not in OL next year so they don't count.

I've already gone through and added everybody from perfect to my friends list. I am hoping I'll be on tonight after the updated list, but in the event that I'm not, I wanted to go ahead and have most of the teams on there.

So I've removed Trout and now my team is all historical and free to play! What else do I need to do to join OL? Add a " - OL" and a "+" to my team name?

Stephensville jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the LDS, but couldn't close the deal and lost the next 3 games to go down to division rival Hartford.

No teams will be promoted or relegated out of Bronze

It was a fall classic too. California went up 8-2 on two early rallies, but the Caspers battled back, getting an RBI single, 3 run HR, and gametying 9th inning 2-run HR to come back from down 6. Then in the 10th, the Caspers subbed in 78 Will Harris to pitch against SE Votto. Enraged by the presence of a LIVE silver, Votto mashed a 2-run HR to go up 10-8. The Caspers got a Solo HR in the bottom of the 10th to make it 10-9, but then went down on strikes to end the series. Really dramatic finish to a comeback from down 2-0.

Just make sure you've got everybody friended, add the - OL to your team name, and the + to your team's abbreviation. Welcome aboard!

At some point next week, just post your team's logo for crowning purposes, otherwise you get stuck with something I throw together.
