Not sure if it's the high contact + high speed + high avoid K ratings, but the SE Sisler is one of the most consistent cards I've had. Well worth the 20-30K PP you'd spend doing that mission. Doesn't slump. Doesn't get sick. Doesn't go on vacation. Always remembers to put the toilet seat down for the ladies. Just a good guy.

couldn't agree more.... in 6 seasons with my team (1 diamond/5 perfect), he's had 5 20/20 seasons, 1 30/30 season, 4x all star, 1 MVP (first year in diamond where he batted .356).... he's averaging about 2000 points generated per year in his history tracker

Looking forward to it! So far this year (as of last night), he was OPSing over 1.200 and his average was over .400, pacing for 15 WAR. Obviously unsustainable, but it's great to see him pay off immediately. He will surely anchor my team for seasons to come.

My perception could be off but it seems random Silver cards are the hardest to collect because there are no packs that guarantee any silver cards. Maybe thats why a Dan Wilson goes for so much? I've been ripping packs all year and I feel that way. I have been short a couple Live team missions only missing several players who have been dwindling in silver all year and a few times paid obnoxious amounts for them.

Totally agree. A lot of the supply of historical Silvers from pre-Collection packs probably got quicksold at 100pp and went out of circulation.

Silvers are hard to come by for Collections.. even some of the LIVE ones. I feel like I should wait for Dan Wilson to drop in price but will the market supply enough of him in the future?

Also wondering why I should pay 10,000+ PP for CJ Wilson? At least with that one there seems to be some excess supply that should drive the price down.

That's a real need for the game, you're correct.

Somehow CJ Wilson has been selling on bid from 15K to 20K for over a week now yet the all time average and last 7 are stuck on 1800 lol. Just waiting for some square to put one up for 2K.

There is no way the rangers one is actually profitable to do now.

You're not wrong. I'm missing one card for the Phillies collection and, sure enough, it's 71 OVR Logan Morrison.

That card just never seems to come up.

The Dan Wilson was very infrequent, too. But at 7K it was still cheaper than the Enrique Wilson 91 which was my other option.

Your theory about no guaranteed Silver, combined with Argonaut's theory about silver quicksells early in the season, makes a lot of sense. Maybe there can be a special Silver pack sale (at a cost of, say, 2000 or 2500) that could get some silvers into the market the way the Diamond pack sale did a few weeks ago?

And so begins and ends the only time Logan Morrison will be thought of in the same breath as Joe DiMaggio...

Apparently, my manager thinks an appropriate use of my newly acquired Pudge Rodriguez is to have him stay in the game at SS for the last 2 innings after pinch hitting for Peak Arky Vaughan. At least we won...

Fun fact: the reward cards for all three Expos missions are right fielders

The latest mission to succumb to my collecting was the Chicago White Sox series of missions for Ed Walsh. I spent just a few PP shy of 160K all in for all 5 missions. Not a terrible investment considering I am using both Luke Appling (last 7-day is 84K) and Ed Walsh (last 7-day is 400K). I'm also using PEAK Shoeless Joe--this was the most expensive single card I spent on, 45K of the 160K.

I am thinking about selling Ed Walsh, but I wanted to give him a trial run with my ballpark factors and defense before deciding if one really elite player like him or 2-3 mini-elites would be better.

I feel like I did pretty well on not overpaying. The only exceptions being Craig Grebeck (2855 PP), gold Nellie Fox (12999 PP), Sherm Lollar (11999 PP), and Gary Peters (18000 PP). Some overpay in that group there.

None have been sold in the last 7 days apparently. However, he is an offensive juggernaut (yes, even at Perfect, winning the platinum stick in RF each of the 2 seasons he spent there), so you may want to consider keeping him if he fits your design. This is my 10th full year using him, and he's earned back 18550 points for me thus far.

Also, sorry about Alou catching you. That card wasn't released when they launched the Expos missions. I got similarly caught by another 1994 card, Bob Hamlin, whose exclusion from the mission has always seemed like a major oversight.

Its actually rather funny to look and see just how many cards from 1994 are now in the game that will never be part of that mission...

Hey hey hey...

After a 24 hour auction, I just sold one at 3300PP, that's a nice haul for a lowly silver.

Cool. With the diamond pack that seems worth doing if the 90 rated guerrero every shows up. Probably gonna be like 30K and I'll give up lol.

I was in for the Logan Morrison auctions that were kicking around last night. I bid them up to ~2500PP and that was enough for me. Congrats on the haul. I'll wait a bit longer for a better price. Doesn't look like the Phillies have called anybody new up this week.

I had the foresight (or the luck?) to collect Expos before missions came out, and got the SE Vladdy Daddy for my Crayons team fairly easily. He doesn't totally fit my park, as I have no boost to doubles/triples, but he's still done well batting cleanup. Picked up 5,000PP in a 10 RBI game.

Logan Morrison insanity

I, too, was one of the peeps looking for Logan Morrison to get that Lenny Dykstra. There were 4 of them up last night, two of which were going to after 1 AM EST. So I did some work, watched some Office, and basically stayed up o try to snipe one. The first one went for over 3300PP (sold by one of our forum members!), which is kind of nuts because there's one up now (09/13/19) with a BIN of 3340.

Stayed up an extra 25 minutes and sniped the next Morrison for 2100 and lo, Lenny Dystra is in the lineup, replacing my beloved Harry Walker, he of the 4.3 WAR last season in perfect but for some reason is down to -0.1. Any excuse to get Nails in the lineup. Small sample size but he's slashing .310/.355/.414 over 7 games.

So Phillies live is done. I ended up spending around 16000. The top 10 priciest were these guys:

250 : Tommy Hunter
361 : Victor Arano
401 : Odubel Herrera
500 : Aaron Nola
804 : Rhys Hoskins
880 : Corey Dickerson
997 : David Robertson
2000 : J.T. Realmuto
2100 : Logan Morrisson
5494 : Bryce Harper

Got Realmuto before he went up. Was tempted to wait for Harper to dip below 90 but I don't think he's going to this season.

I never thought I'd do a Live / non-Diamond Pack reward mission but after doing it, I will say it's been fun! The Diamond cards aren't too pricey considering they are live and there's something oddly rewarding about having those 40-60 rated cards worth something, and actually worth searching for in the AH.

What other Live missions are worth going for?

SE Plank is good, and I think he's the Athletics one if I recall. Not at my comp so can't confirm. 20-25k on the AH and can be completed for far less.
