what qualifies as a whale team?
What level of players would a whale team have? Is there a certain average rating for all players that would put a team in the whale category? i just got promoted to Perfect level this week and I think there are some whales in the league but I'm not sure. One thing I am sure of is that I'm getting my butt kicked in the league so far.

whale is based on money spent, not based on players, but generally if you see someone with more than 10 perfect cards...

I agree that "Whale" is more about money spent than a specific combination of cards. For example, I definitely qualify as a whale and had Bronze (LaValliere), Silver (Sabo), and Gold (Sutter & Ichiro) cards still on my active roster until this week. However, the others are not wrong either. Mostly diamonds with some perfects? Whale. Stud historical starters in the bullpen? Whale. Really, a whale is any team stacked with an abundance of historical studs that could only be acquired through paying for PP

Right, a whale is defined by money spent but since you can't see money spent you can only make an assumption based on who is on their roster. It is also totally possible to be a collector or casual whale who is not trying to play an optimal roster at the top perfect leagues.
I'd say over $500 is a whale. Over $100 is a big fish. Last edited by dkgo; 06-26-2019 at 09:40 AM. |

yea $500 doesn't get you as far as you think. Should get you to perfect easily, but it won't get you to the top of perfect at that whale level

Generally I reserve the term for when nearly their entire roster is composed of perfect and/or high diamond historical cards.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I have about 20 high historical diamonds and 3 historical perfects and most people have described my team as a mini-whale or dolphin, etc.

You need more perfects to get that first Perfect League ring. C'mon, at least *some* Raccoons should win something from time to time...!

Without knowing how much you spent or the quality of those cards (even high historical diamonds can be 30K to like 200K) I'd agree it looks like a mini-whale team. Teams loaded with perfect walter johnson and such I'd describe as uber-whales.

![]() Nah, we'll get that perfect title some day without more perfects. In fact, I'm avoiding perfects and going for mostly diamonds. And what about your Raccoons? Surely that perfect Johnson of yours at least gives your Racoons a chance if you can get into the playoffs. The perfect leagues are becoming more diluted too so that's got to help our chances.

I have never had a team in the Perfect playoffs in PT.

There's still time. I'm rooting for you. Reading about how your team failed miserably in the playoffs should be an interesting read. ![]()
