Bad, bad Pack Luck

I don't know if it could get any worse opening packs but playing around with points I had I ended up with 88 packs....highest card....85....

ouch!!!!!

not much fun in that.

certainly had more fun opening cards as a kid....even when they ended up in spokes of my bike. lol

Check out my threads on this. I opened 1,067 packs before I got a perfect and they're supposed to drop every 180 packs or so

That is just crazy. Kinda takes the fun out of the pack thing. I don't expect to pull greatness all the time but common and geez.... you...over 1k in packs to get a perfect. ouch.

Just to give you a sense of perspective. The chances of not getting a Diamond or Perfect card over 88 packs is 3.4%. That's better odds than getting 12 with a pair of dice (2.8%).

Haven't had any lucks in months of opening around 3 to 4 packs per day and finally, today...! Nothing extraordinary but it's nice to catch a break

Today, I opened two gold packs. Both packs netted only the minimum each: 1 gold. The gold in both packs......Marcus Stroman. What are the chances you get the same gold in both packs on one day? Oh, and I already had his card before today, and it stinks. He's barely a gold (80). Rough luck today. I will not be taking any risks. Hah!

Seems like whenever I open a bunch of packs and do happen to land a decent gold or a diamond, the AH value of the cards hardly (or don't) cover the cost of the PP spent to rip the packs.

I've gotten a handful of okay cards ripping packs but feel like I could have improved my team a lot more with targeted cards I could really use rather than play the card ripping lotto. Which is why I tend to play the AH...

Just pulled two regular packs on my packs only team. Pulled a 98 Soto in one pack. Second packs was a 90(?) Stanton and 100 Wagner!!!

Deciding whether or not to sell Wagner and buy 500 packs, but don't want to run into this problem. Theoretically, I should receive 2.5 perfects in return, not to mention all the other golds and diamonds. Also, I'm bad at math so idk if that is even right lol

my f2p team are very lucky, I just pulled a perfect Barry Bonds (around 200K PP). Since the start of PT 20, this team pulled King Kelly (260K PP), Phil Rizzuto (33K PP) and Eric Davis (40K PP).

I only open a pack a day in the last 2 month..its my recipe.

Glad to see there is some great pulls happening out there. I wonder if cards in the AH are only cards from game players or does OOTP put cards in too?

I believe they said only players, they do not seed the auction house. It's apparently a closed system.

I have a packs only team. Here's the ratings of the cards when the packs were opened:

87 packs opened
1 perfect (live)
4 diamond (3 live, 1 historical)
14 gold (12 live, 2 historical, 1 duplicate)
14 silver (10 live, 4 historical, 2 duplicates)

Your first problem was opening gold packs. Never open gold packs.

Day 4 of opening packs to reveal complete and utter dreck...what happens when something good comes out again? I don't recall what that looks and sounds like. I did manage to compile an impressive collection of Danny Graves though.

I might actually commit murder for that card. JK
If I had to pick just one perfect card for my team that would be it. But there's no way ill ever even come close to being able to afford HALF that card...
