I’m the Faybik Experience and I just want you to know that one of those 17 losses was to me. Miracles do happen

I'm barely holding on to the last wildcard spot. Have a one game lead over the next team and there's a couple of other teams within striking distance. The pennant race screen puts my chances at 52.6% so there are some nervous times ahead for the Angels.

The Fighting Frogs have clinched, and all that remains to be decided is whether the 98-55 Louisville Colonels or the 97-56 Frogs will host their impending divisional round series.
Interesting that the 3 strongest teams, by far, are in the same conference. The World Series will almost seem anticlimactic for whichever American Conference team makes it there. |

Wildcard magic number is at 1 as of this posting for the New York Patriots of Iron League .154. Automatic promotion is still in the cards as we're .5 ahead of one of the division leaders, but the realistic scenario is that we have to win our wildcard game to assure that we go up. I dread the idea of spending another season in Iron, especially with our awful bullpen that made making the playoffs a dicey scenario for awhile.
At least if I went up, I'd have the points to potentially add a player or two, even with a relegation back to Iron seeming almost inevitable. Last edited by Magus978; 04-20-2019 at 09:24 PM. |

The Raccoons have clinched the top spot in the playoffs, but I fear having to play a team that's 21.5 games behind us. We're 7-12 against them this season. No other team has beat us more than 5 times and only two other teams have a winning record against us. If they make it to the WC round and win, I fear an early exit for us. So here's hoping those evil Spidermen don't make it.

These Raccoons have clinched nothing more or less than having Sunday off!

Well, at least they make for an entertaining read. An important part of the fun for me is coming here to read about other people's teams. Winning is nice, but overrated if you ask me. What I like is seeing the myriad different happenings in the various leagues, including both the failures and success stories. I spent money this time which is why my team is doing so well, but that's not the fun part for me. It was shopping for players on the AH and then trying out all sorts of crazy lineups, etc, that's made it fun. I really hope tournaments come around soon so there will be more to do, though the regular leagues should keep me entertained enough for a while longer.

Update from my previous post in this thread: We're in. Clinched home field for the wildcard game, but it was done on a loss, so I'm not going to celebrate it. The policy in the locker room is celebrations for wins, belt whippings for losses.

I made the playoffs but did it with mirrors this time. I have a meager 85-77 (.525) record but won my division in a close race. Also have +4 Pythagorean and a -3 run differential on the season. This team has been making the most of slim pickings. Seem to be no killer whales in this league, so I am hoping I can make some noise in these playoffs. Good luck to the rest of you and happy Easter.

Unfortunately the Angels have let their playoff chances slip. Their one game lead in the wildcard has flipped to a one game deficit. There's still a chance but we no longer control our destiny.

B'sin'Glou haven't had a winning month since April and have finished the season on 73 wins.
I'm going to blow the team up in the offseason. Have had a diamond upgraded to perfect and a couple golds to diamonds over the last couple weeks so am going to quicksell and buy packs and transition to pack-only (I enjoy opening packs more than scouring the AH, and a once-a-week pack-opening-a-thon suits my schedule for the next few weeks). I'll build the team around Soto, and a few other remaining guys. Not sure yet what direction I'll take the team but whatever I do it'll be fun!

And a four-game losing streak to finish the season means the Aotearoa Angels finish 80-82 for the season, one game out of the final wildcard spot. Such an Angels record.

Again winning the tie-breaker to go in, this time for the final wild-card spot

When you finish 55 games behind the division winner ... but still win the wild-card

Indeed. Playing against a team like that is like having little leaguers playing against adults

![]() Chattanooga ended up a spiritless 74-88 in Silver League, but also well clear of the relegation zone. Who here had the Winterfell Dire Wolves? Just realized they were also in my subleague. My Rebels went an impressive 1-6 against them in the regular season ![]() The Raccoons came 75-87 in the middle of nowhere in Diamond. I think without Walter Johnson (20-5, 2.25 ERA) they hadn't managed to stay in the league that easily… ![]() The rest of that team was indeed putrid. Sherm Lollar batted .221 with seven homers after having been brought in as improvement, which he wasn't. Rey Ordonez batted .194 after having been brought on mainly for defense. He made five errors in 39 games for a .974 fielding percentage, which is hardly a passing grade. Juan Soto hit 31 dingers. Daniel Murphy batted .322 in a platoon. The rest was more or less terrible.

The New York Patriots finished 89-73, will most likely remain in Iron next season UNLESS they can win their wildcard game AND pull off a massive upset of the Watford Hornets (120-42) in the division series. When they inevitably lose, whether it be in the wildcard game or the division series, this club will look back at their bullpen's 28 blown saves and general ineptitude at doing the basic things relievers need to do to survive in baseball as a catalyst for their failure to win promotion. The bullpen will have to be improved if the Patriots want to have another crack at promotion next season, but damned if I know where the points are gonna come from
